About the role:

Gartner is recruiting for an analyst candidate with extensive experience in the K-12 Education industry who can deliver objective, actionable insight to senior business and IT executives in education organizations related to the management and use of technology in driving improved school and student outcomes.

Gartner analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research, market predictions and best practices for a broad range of world-leading organizations. A Senior Director Analyst serves as a contributor and leader within Gartner’s Research and Advisory organization, establishing themself as a credible voice by providing expert guidance and assistance to education technology leaders and education technology providers to enable faster, smarter decisions and stronger performance on their organization's most critical priorities.

What you will do:

  • Develop, contextualize and deliver insightful and actionable research content primarily for CIOs and senior IT leaders in K-12 education on a variety of topics, including:
  • Digital strategy, IT operating model and governance
  • GenAI readiness and application of AI across the enterprise
  • Emerging technologies most impactful to transformation of learning
  • Classroom technology in support of diverse learning models
  • EdTech innovations that lead to demonstrable learning improvement.
  • How to select and deploy technology to improve school district administration
  • Drive compelling interactions via inquiries, remote and in-person briefings and conference presentations on a variety of IT topics aligned with your areas of coverage, primarily targeting K-12 education CIOs and the Superintendents they report to.
  • Effectively re-frame client thinking to drive client action in resolving challenging issues.
  • Advise industry technology providers and investors about trends, technologies and services of key interest to K-12 education.
  • Keep abreast of policy developments that have a significant regional or global impact on the primary and secondary education IT market.
  • Conduct research by reading, networking with clients, vendors, and Gartner analysts, evaluating and analyzing research data and participating in research meetings and other activities which comprise the Gartner research process.
  • Create new hypotheses that result in key Gartner research positions relative to K-12 education technology and the role of the CIO.
  • Advise clients how to expand the CIO role in K-12 by moving beyond a technology function leader and adopting business, digitalization, and academic leader profiles.
  • Provide exceptional sales support by engaging with prospective and existing clients at the executive level virtually or face-to face and by delivering impactful insight based on client needs.
