As a member of the Clinical Trials Contracts Team, Sr Clinical Research Contracts Administrator will be accountable for drafting, reviewing and finalizing the creation of clinical contracts of Phase I through IV sponsored studies in accordance with industry best practices. Responsibilities include working with Clinical Operations, Finance, Legal, Clinical Contracting and Functional Service Providers to ensure proper clinical contract development, training and dissemination. Ideal candidate will have prior experience with industry best practices, and technology to continuously improve. Must coordinate cross functionally with contract and other clinical research departments to manage and complete the contract process throughout study duration. Responds and resolves complex issues associated with domestic and international contract issues with support from more senior staff. Ideal candidate will have demonstrated success in working collaboratively with stakeholders, especially senior Business Operations management.
Job Responsibilities:
Manage administration of clinical research contracts and provides knowledge on clinical contract practices, complex trials, and understanding of key stakeholder engagement.
Manage day-to-day activities in complex clinical contract development and negotiation processes.
Ensure compliance with federal, sponsor or institutional guidelines related to contracts.
Proactively work with cross-functional teams (e.g., research team, sponsor institutions) on matters related to legal and complex issue resolution.
Support development and maintenance of policies and procedures to ensure high-quality services of own team/department.
Identify opportunities and provide inputs to improve efficiency/automate current processes.
Demonstrates agility and decisive actions, course corrections, and/or abandon ineffective strategies.
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education and/or Training:
Bachelor's degree in relevant area required.
Minimum Experience:
Minimum Requirement: 4+ years of experience in administration processes as applicable to clinical research contracts.
Experience working with relevant regulations.
Experience working with cross-functional teams.
Proven performance in earlier role.
Preferred experience with Clinical Trial Management Systems (CTMS), like Ironclad or similar.
Preferred experience with benchmarking tools, like GrantPlan or similar.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Special Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Good understanding of contract management, agreements and negotiation.
Assists in reviewing and revising clinical trial contract language.
Supports clinical teams in resolving issues as they relate to contracts.
Able to use and manage contract lifecycle management software system and contracts repository.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
