About the Job
As a Software Engineer at Red Hat, you’ll play a key role in shaping the way Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) is developed and tested. You’ll be part of a global, agile, and cross-functional team, gaining expertise in cutting-edge technologies such as Python, Ansible, Containers, OpenShift, CI/CD workflows, release pipelines, and test automation frameworks. Your focus will be on delivering high-quality, high-performance, and user-friendly solutions that meet enterprise standards. As an Automation Engineer, you'll contribute to enhancing the release processes by developing automated testing tools and services, ensuring continuous improvement of our Hybrid Cloud ecosystem. The role requires a creative mindset, adaptability to rapid changes, a passion for learning, and active communication with the Fedora community.
What you will do
Develop the Test Management Tool (TMT) and Testing Farm
Collaborate across the entire Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) solution portfolio
Perform root cause analysis for reported and identified issues
Advocate for internal and external customers, ensuring their needs are met
What you will Bring
3+ years of experience in Software or Quality Engineering
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Proficient in programming skills (Python preferred)
Solid background in Linux OS, including shell scripting and Linux server/laptop installation.
Ability to assist in/perform root cause analysis of issues and develop reproducers
Knowledge of Ansible, AWS, OpenStack, OpenShift, or Kubernetes is a plus.
Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
