Software Development Project Manager

The NISC IV program at Leidos is seeking a Project Manager for an Appian Cloud Software Development opportunity to oversee and manage a software development project in an AWS cloud environment. The project goal is to design, plan, implement, test, and support the development of Appian based applications using an agile process for Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Office of Aviation Safety.

Primary Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

• Manages software development initiatives with complex interdependencies in a fast-paced environment and involving multiple stakeholders.
• Creates project briefings and prepares project deliverables, facilitates internal and external reviews.
• Provide status and monthly reports regarding the tracking and delivery of project deliverables.
• Responsible for the administration, planning, scheduling, budgeting and cost management, communications, issue resolution, deliverables, and delivery of assigned projects.
• Establish and maintains operational budget and forecasts
• Serves as primary point of contact to the customers to ensure client-satisfaction regarding project goals and objectives.  Interacts with customers on project requirements, timelines, project status, deliverables, etc. Collaborates with the program manager on escalation and resolution of customer issues.
• Coordinates with the Solutions Architect and Software Development team members, applying agile methods and processes, meeting the requirements of the task order.
• Manages and Monitors project work and other team tasks, monitors progress and takes corrective action as necessary in coordination with the Task Order Manager and Solutions Architect.
• Ensures quality of team's work and on-time completion.
• Represents project team in cross-organizational workgroups, communities of practice, project teams, etc. 

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or 8+ years of prior relevant experience or a Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. Relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
• Experience/familiarity managing cloud software projects, micro-services, Agile/Scrum methodology, and/or DevSecOps
• 5 years technical and project management experience, including diverse experience in the development, integration, operations and/or maintenance of complex systems and technologies with at least 2 years’ experience with direct and indirect management of cross-functional teams.
• Ability to respond effectively to changing events and competing priorities.
• Superior oral and written communications skills, capable of translating and presenting complex technical and project management concepts to management and customers, through presentations and other written formats.
• Demonstrated ability to rapidly build and sustain strong customer relationships through superior delivery and bringing innovative thinking.
• High levels of energy and superior follow-through abilities.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance Must be a US Citizen with the last 3 years spent in the US

Preferred Qualifications:

• Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
• Training/certification in Agile methodologies (e.g., Scrum Master, DevOps, DevSecOps)
• Previous consulting experience or experience supporting software development projects and customers
• Open-source technology development experience
• Interest in and passion for solving complex problems
