The Red Hat Ansible Automation business unit is seeking a Senior Technical Marketing Manager. As a Senior Technical Marketing Manager, you will have significant responsibility in enabling Red Hat’s technical sellers, which includes developing and delivering technical content such as labs, presentations, demonstrations, videos, and conference keynotes that are viewed and used by thousands of solutions architects, consultants, and partner presales associates worldwide. You'll also help shape the direction of the Red Hat Ansible automation offerings by communicating requirements through customer relationships as well as in-depth product usage.
What you will do
Become a subject matter expert on the technical features and functions of Ansible Automation Platform and be able to demonstrate them to a wide variety of audiences, personas and stakeholders.
Create, deliver, and tailor content for both internal and external audiences.
Create, deliver and maintain technical sales assets including (but not limited to) product labs, click-through demonstrations, short-form video demos, blogs, e-books, and more.
Evangelize, promote, and syndicate created content (especially video) and engage on social media to reach additional audiences.
Deliver presentations at key industry and Red Hat events to relevant audiences.
Ensure Ansible Automation Platform content is easy and clear to communicate to a variety of customers at numerous levels.
Work with internal stakeholders like product management, product marketing, engineering, sales, and the larger marketing groups to create content aligned with business needs.
Communicate requirements and product improvement opportunities to relevant product stakeholders such as product management and engineering.
Work with external customers, technology partners and community members to create compelling stories and case studies.
What you will bring:
Comfort with programming and traditional software development processes applied to customer use cases. Knowledge around python, bash scripting are examples of must-haves.
Represent the values of the Red Hat Ansible Technical Marketing team (be kind, be accountable, be open).
Technical curiosity around how things work, and a desire and willingness to learn how developers and operations teams automate together.
Understanding (or wanting to learn) what it takes to motivate and inspire technical audiences and an ability to convey the WHY just as much as the HOW to customers and sales stakeholders.
Ability to create high-quality, compelling technical marketing content quickly and accurately (often from scratch) while also having the ability to also be a highly skilled “hacker” for building complex labs and demos.
Understand when things need to be Good Enough - time is precious for juggling all of the tasks that you may not know about yet.
Knowledge of GitHub, since many sources of content are stored as code for modularity.
Knowledge of video editing software such as Techsmith Camtasia (or similar) a plus (or willing to learn).
Knowledge of open source projects, development processes and methodologies is a plus.
Knowledge of Ansible automation is a plus.
Ability to travel up to 25% and role is in-office, in Durham, NC.
The ideal candidate is a hacker with 5-7 years experience that is comfortable with the unknown, hungry for cool new use-cases, can stitch things together, and then be a creative, compelling and engaging storyteller in written and video form (and then promote the story to the masses).
Pay Transparency
Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
