About the Team/Role

The Senior Team Lead, Small and Medium Credits manages the activities of credit approval and credit collection. Develops, implements and maintains systems, procedures, and policies. Recommends credit limits and handles special credit arrangements and problem collection accounts. Oversees analysis of accounts receivable, aging of accounts to determine overdue accounts, and collection procedures. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

How you'll make an impact

People Management:

  • Work closely with associate and hold monthly 1:1 development meetings to identify and achieve department and individual goals

  • Develop and foster a cohesive team environment through performance management, including drafting and delivering performance reviews, coaching, and professional development for assigned staff

  • Identify and facilitate associate cross-training opportunities to develop different skill sets in an effort to support department succession planning and development

  • Ensure adequate resource allocation to obtain desired results

  • Actively manages associate performance metrics, quality using the team dashboards

  • Provide input into capacity planning and staffing levels.

  • Ensure appropriate staffing by balancing volumes and PTO requests

Underwriting Management:

  • Manage team of Commercial Credit Analysts and Team Leaders in their day to day production performance, career development, training, and evaluations

  • Oversee and ensure proper financial and or risk analysis is performed by underwriting team on new requests and credit line increases per policy guidelines  

  • Prepare and perform quality audits on all process to ensure compliance with all policies and standards: i.e. Federal Regulators, credit policy, contractual requirements, and service level obligations

  • Utilize expertise and experience to address real-time situations and develop creative solutions to ensure appropriate customer experience and retention while adhering to the banks policy

Customer Service & Other Management:

  • Appropriately represent the bank and respond to credit-related inquiries and resolve complex credit problems for both internal and external customers

  • Ensures compliance with established expectations, SLA’s and benchmarks for employee performance related to turnaround times, stake holder communications, escalations, delegations, and code of conduct with customers

Government Account and other Queue underwriting:

  • Underwrite government accounts and ensure proper turnaround time expectations

  • Provide support where needed in the application queues assigned to your team

Experience you'll bring

  • Bachelors degree in Finance or related field, or substitute 5 years credit underwriting experience

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in the credit/underwriting field

  • Minimum of 2 years WEX underwriting experience

  • Prior supervisory experience

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan. Pay Range: $63,000.00 - $83,000.00 Apply
