Position Title: Senior Systems Engineer (WIA)

Location: Remote

Pay Rate: The annual salary range for this position is $140,000 - $170,000. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RTL Networks considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Required Clearance: Secret

Required Certification(s): Proficiency in JAVA development is required for this position.

Summary:

RTL Networks has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to join our team supporting The Defense Finance Accounting Services (DFAS). The Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) Information & Technology (I&T) is responsible for the provision of information and technology services that support the DISA Automated Time Attendance and Production System (DATAAPS), Headquarters Accounting Reporting System (HQARS), and Wounded in Action (WIA). Each system is separate and mutually exclusive; they do not share components or data flows.

WIA application is used to track soldiers that were wounded in action to ensure changes to WIA soldier military pay accounts are accurate and done in a timely manner.

Primary Responsibilities:

Essential responsibilities of the Senior Systems Engineer include, but are not limited to:

• Under general direction, performs high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of very complex applications that require a thorough knowledge of administrative and technical skills.
• Directs and participates in all phases of system development with emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing and acceptance phases (IV&V and DT&E).
• Applies higher-level business or technical principles and methods to very difficult technical problems to arrive at automated engineering solutions.
• Designs and prepares technical reports and related documentation and makes charts and graphs to record results.
• Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as required by the Task Order.
• May be required to serve as Task Leader.
• Responsible for ensuring the quality and services delivered for particular task for which this skill is performing the Task Leader position.

Qualifications:

• Minimum eight years' experience in systems engineering.
• Bachelor’s degree.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
• Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time.
• Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically.

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for clearance at this location.
