What YOU will do:

  • You will provide advanced application and infrastructure support for a variety of COTS and non-COTS applications in both a traditional workload and containerized environments.

  • You will support applications and infrastructure in AWS using IaC principles.

  • You will serve as an agile team member on a cross-functional team. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, operating system support, application support, monitoring/alarming, enhancing application performance, and adhering to corporate security compliance standards.

  • You will interface with internal Collins customers to understand their support needs and provide reliable applications for our engineering community.

Qualifications you must have:

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience with Cloud Computing.

  • Experience with Linux.

  • Experience with containers.

Skills We Value:

  • Operating System Proficiency: Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems in a traditional workload and containerized environment

  • Cloud Services Expertise: Experience with AWS scripting (Cloud Formation or Terraform), Kubernetes

  • Database Management: Practical knowledge of MySQL databases, including setup, management, and troubleshooting.

  • Project Management Tools:  Experience using and administrating the Atlassian Suite, GitLab

  • Monitoring/Alarming Solutions: Experience with monitoring and alarming solutions such as Zabbix, OpenSearch, Grafana, and Datadog.

  • DevSecOps: Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and tools, including continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, security automation, and infrastructure as code (IaC)

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
