Senior Software Engineer

Red Hat Engineering is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to become part of the Management Fabric team. In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse and innovative team responsible for our core authorization and inventory access control for Red Hat's open-hybrid cloud platform, and its many surrounding integrations.

This position is focused on an early stage inventory of hosts and clusters that aims to be a ubiquitous solution for our customers, products, and hybrid cloud workloads.  We will be moving fast and need a skilled collaborator able to work efficiently with a remote team while engaging with wider open source projects.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Collaborate on a new & existing codebase development with an emphasis on cloud-native environments.

  • Develop examples and documentation: craft clear examples and detailed documentation that promote adoption of our services, serving as a valuable resource for both Red Hat's internal teams and the broader community.

  • Standards and compliance: Adhere to all relevant regulations and industry standards, ensuring that our effort integrates across various environments seamlessly and meets all necessary compliance criteria.

Required skills

  • REST API design and implementation

  • Database design

  • Asynchronous system design

  • High-level expertise in software development with Golang or similar experience

  • Good understanding of core concepts related to application security and cloud development

  • Ability to work Hybrid in Raleigh NC

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, Openshift, or cloud native environments (A Plus)

  • Familiarity with SRE and operational aspects of running software in production (A Plus)

  • Experience contributing to upstream Open Source Software communities ( A Plus)

The salary range for this position is $111,260.00 - $183,580.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.

Pay Transparency

Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat’s compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
