More than $1 trillion of cars are sold each year in the U.S., yet it consistently ranks as one of the worst consumer experiences in America. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Auto Retail team at Upstart, you will work closely with cross-functional partners to execute projects across the whole stack. Youâre a self-starter who delivers work with quality, testability, resiliency, and maintainability in mind. Youâll move efficiently and deliberately to drive both existing and greenfield projects forward, while always keeping our end users in mind.Â

- Lead successful projects working collaboratively with engineering team members and cross-functional partners
- Make thoughtful architectural decisions to improve the quality of our software
- Translate complex business requirements into technical plans, and ultimately high quality code
- Drive a culture of technical excellence
Minimum QualificationsÂ
- 6+ years working with full stack web applications
- 3+ years of experience working in a full stack capacity with NodeJS/Typescript and React or equivalent
- Able to translate complex business requirements into system architecture and technical designs
- Experience leading engineers on medium to large projects through planning, design, implementation, and launch
- Experience driving a culture of technical excellence related to quality, availability, and scalability
