Marsh Advisory’s Risk Innovation and Qualification (RiskIQ) team is seeking candidates for the following position. This position is a hybrid role based in Chicago or Denver.

Senior Consultant, Risk Consultant

What can you expect?

  • As a senior consultant you will provide strategic and hands-on consultative services for our clients seeking to design their data strategy, select potential risk technology vendor partners, and implement or optimize their RMIS or risk related system(s). Your contributions will continue to raise the RiskIQ team as market leaders.

  • As a part of the Marsh Data Strategy/Data Science consulting team, you will have the opportunity to lead projects with Fortune 500 companies to design and transform their risk data and technology strategies.

  • Manage projects from a business and technical level and lead informed discussions about RMIS and risk/safety related technology marketplace and systems potential for clients and prospects.

  • Apply advanced knowledge of the industry to develop presentations/slides and other communications of high complexity to drive internal and client meetings

  • Lead small projects and begin to lead more complex and/or unique projects

  • Although part of the broader RiskIQ team, you will have a specialized workstream focus in Risk Data Strategy.  A full range of other workstreams projects will be offered to round out your Risk Information Consulting experiences. You will have both independent projects that you will lead as well as join other team members on various projects as required.

We will count on you to:

  • Provide advice to clients in developing and adjusting project approaches, methodology, and tools to guide risk programs and initiatives

  • Develop pricing for complex projects and develop proposals to expand relationships with existing clients and gain new clients

  • Leverage advanced knowledge of industry trends around risk management to develop actionable insights into a client's business environment and risk management environment

  • Demonstrate knowledge of property / casualty insurance and claims process (Workers Compensation, General Liability, Automobile Liability, Property etc.)

  • Create, design and interpret data analytics as it pertains to risk and insurance

  • Map business processes, identifying key measures along the process and creation of reports to drive efficiencies along the process

  • Familiarity with independent, insurance carrier/TPA, and in-house home-grown risk management/claims/safety technology

What you need to have: 

  • 4 or more years’ client facing experience in consulting or project management in risk technology selection, implementation, and/or optimization projects

  • Graduation from a college or university with a 4-year degree

  • Project Management experience of risk related (RMIS and/or Safety EHS) implementations and support

  • Experience in all areas of risk technology – 1) Discovery/Requirements, 2) Selection Process, 3) System Implementation, 4) System Optimization, and 5) Vendor Management

  • Hands on experience with implementation or support:

    • Major RMIS players (Origami, Ventiv, Riskonnect, DXC, etc.), and/or

    • Safety EHS vendors (Intelex, Enablon, GenSuite, Etq, etc.), and/or

    • Other risk technology vendors and platforms (Enterprise Risk Management, Workplace and Property Safety, Enterprise Risk, Finance, Cyber, etc.)

All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $84,700 to $180,800.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
