Overview

The Senior Program Manager is part of the Project Management Office (PMO) and reports to the Vice President of the Project Management Office. The Senior Program Manager position will lead and deliver desired capabilities for complex and strategic development initiatives spanning multiple domains in the CIS organization. You will be a leader and a key change agent for continuing to drive the maturity of program and project execution at CIS. The Senior Program Manager will ensure that CIS’s leverages Agile processes and methods in the execution of these strategic initiatives. The candidate will coach project managers in best practices and may manage a small team of individuals who are managing individual projects.

Salary Range: $124,800 - $218,400  We offer a competitive total rewards package at the Center for Internet Security:

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute on the cross-functional program plans and successfully deliver the expected business results for one or more strategic programs or initiatives
  • Work with product managers, program executive sponsors, and targeted customers of a program to acquire a detailed understanding of the required business results
  • Manage programs according to program baselines and plans that define schedules, funding, staffing, risks, and management approach to achieve program/project business results
  • Responsible and accountable for the critical development aspects of a program including scope, schedule, cost, risk, quality, and cross functional communication
  • Assess and identify risks that might jeopardize successful achievement of a program, develop risk mitigation strategies, tactics, and implement risk mitigation plans
  • Manage programs and execution utilizing Agile best practices and continue to mature the use and adoption of Agile
  • Provide coaching to project managers to continuously develop best in class program/project management and execution skills
  • Identify training and development needs for program and project management staff
  • Develop and improve templates, standards, and best practices for the Project Management Office (PMO); and maintain comprehensive documentation on programs
  • Manage internal resources, contractors, consultants, and other key program resources for the effective execution of complex projects and programs
  • Participate in the RFI/RFP, supplier selection, and contract negotiation where applicable
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Business, or a related field*
  • 15+ years’ experience and track record in direct, program and project management
  • 7+ years’ leadership experience in program/project management function spanning companywide technology and complex information technology programs/projects
  • 2-4 years demonstrated track record and understanding of Agile including the ability to execute projects, acting as Scrum Master/Lead or an equivalent role
  • Proven capabilities in developing strong program/project management teams
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing budgets, doing financial projections, and tracking and assessing program costs
  • Experience in strategic planning, risk management, and change management
  • Excellent stakeholder and internal communication skills
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking 
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

It's a Plus if You Have:

  • Master’s degree
  • Project Management experience in cybersecurity field
  • Project Management Certifications: 3+ related certifications or equivalent additional experience/education
  • Experience in enterprise planning (ERP/financials) implementations is a plus
  • Strong communication, presentation, and cross-functional alignment skills 

*Additional years of relevant experience or a combination of an Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree.
