Senior Product Manager, Claims
Remote
Garner's mission is to transform the healthcare economy, delivering high quality and affordable care for all. By helping employers restructure their healthcare benefit to provide clear incentives and data-driven insights, we direct employees to higher quality and lower cost healthcare providers. The result is that patients get better health outcomes while doctors are rewarded for practicing well, not performing more procedures. We are backed by top-tier venture capital firms, are growing rapidly and looking to expand our team.
We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Claims team. This role reports to the Director of Product Management. The Claims team is responsible for building a verticalized claims platform and user-facing experience that delivers these incentives quickly and reliably across multiple payment rails.
Responsibilities will include:
- You’ll own our claims product and roadmap, including our patient-facing reimbursement experience, claim adjudication system, internal operational tools, and third-party integrations.
- You’ll be responsible for directly improving healthcare affordability and outcomes for patients and employers by delivering a compelling, seamless financial incentive.
- Develop a deep intuition for user needs—including members, internal teams, and administrators—and use that to drive your roadmap and help shape the overall product strategy
- Drive new feature development from start to finish: from ideation, requirements gathering, documentation, product development, launch, and iteration
- Define what success looks like, ensure we have the data in place to measure progress and rally the team around what winning looks like and how we get there
- Example projects might include:
- Improving our adjudication systems to increase the speed and accuracy of reimbursement for patients
- Providing patients with real-time visibility into their claims to enable them to understand better when they’ll be reimbursed
- Developing partnerships and integrations with third parties to enable direct payment to providers
- Building internal applications that enable our Concierge team to resolve complex claim-related questions quickly
The ideal candidate has:
- 4+ years of product management experience
- Hands-on experience as a software engineer or data scientist and/or a degree in computer science or engineering
- Proficient in SQL, able to write queries, analyze data, and generate insights to inform product decisions.
- Highly autonomous and thrives in taking ownership of complex, unscoped problems.
- A relentless learner with a proven track record of diving deep into large, complex domains and becoming the go-to expert.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate the vision and drive execution across teams and stakeholders.Strong analytical skills, using data to guide product intuition and decisions.’
- Bonus points if you have experience building financial products, working with healthcare claims data, or building/managing large-scale data systems.
- A willingness to “roll up your sleeves” and do whatever is necessary to ensure company success
- Experience working in a rapidly evolving startup environment
- A desire to be a part of our mission to improve the U.S. healthcare system
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Garner does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time
What we look for at Garner:
- Mission First: Our mission is to transform our healthcare system, delivering high-quality and affordable care to all. Everything else is secondary.
- Expect Extraordinary: Our mission is audacious, so we will only succeed by producing exceptional results. We continually push ourselves and each other to new heights and beyond our comfort zones.
- Courageous Communication: Transparency and candor are imperative to realizing our potential as an organization and as individuals—even when uncomfortable. Many companies talk about these values. We live them.
- Supportive community: People do their best work and learn the most when they feel genuinely supported and cared for. It’s also more fun that way.
