Sprout Social is looking to hire a Senior Market Researcher to the Brand Creative team with strategic alignment to the full Marketing team. We are seeking a proactive and motivated individual who thrives at executing equally creative and methodologically sound research. The measure of success in this role will be the velocity, quality, and clarity of data storytelling, which ultimately have a demonstrable impact on the business.

What you’ll do:

  • Execute and manage quantitative and qualitative research projects (e.g., surveys, focus groups) to support strategic marketing decisions, including campaign, content, and pricing strategies.
  • Conduct international market research to identify marketing opportunities and deliver insights that influence brand strategy, customer engagement, and retention.
  • Manage and oversee key customer research programs (e.g., NPS surveys, brand trackers), ensuring unbiased data collection and compliance with ethical standards.
  • Provide actionable insights and clear recommendations through presentations and reports that guide creative content and marketing strategies for stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Continuously improve research processes and methodologies, curate insights, and collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize research aligned with business needs.
  • Ensure quality control at each step of the research lifecycle, such as: verifying test plans have a cohesive flow, checking survey programming logic, questionnaire proofing, identifying low quality responses in data sets, number checking and proofing reports and presentations for accuracy.

What you’ll bring:

You enjoy creating ways of testing and measuring the qualities that make a brand successful. You are well versed in converting and distilling raw data into important, relatable storytelling with actionable insights for peers and leadership. You are an empathetic and adaptable communicator who is comfortable speaking to internal and external audiences of various roles and levels of experience.

The minimum qualifications for this role include:

  • 6+ years of professional experience in market research, UX research, or a similar role
  • 3+ years of professional experience using survey platforms like Survey Monkey, Qualtrics, or UserTesting.
  • Proficient with Google Suite (e.g., Google Sheets, Google Slides), Microsoft Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Canva, Figma, etc.)
  • Experience conducting advanced quantitative methodologies such as segmentation, Max/Diff, Conjoint, longitudinal brand tracking and comfortable moderating qualitative engagements such as focus groups and IDIs
  • Strong project management skills - ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneously and scope resources and timing for complex, multi-phased projects.

Preferred qualifications for this role include:

  • B2B and/or SaaS market research experience
  • Experience conducting international/cross-cultural research with strong knowledge of market-specific nuances.
  • Experience thinking holistically/creatively in addition to technically/analytically

How you’ll grow:

Within 1 month, you’ll plant your roots, including:

  • Experience Sprout’s in-depth onboarding, covering everything from our company mission and values, hearing directly from executives and founders to deep training on our products and the value that Sprout delivers to our customers.
  • Start to familiarize yourself with Sprout’s brand and family of products.
  • Conduct initial 1:1s with stakeholders across Marketing and other strategic partners throughout the company to identify what a successful relationship looks like and how you will work together.
  • Understand as much as you can about the culture, products, teams, and projects of Sprout to creatively support our award-winning culture.

Within 3 months, you’ll start hitting your stride by:

  • Get to know, use and improve on existing market research processes, tools, and rituals.
  • Go deep into existing research to familiarize yourself with Sprout’s audience, brand history and the competitive landscape.
  • Begin to take ownership of established research projects.
  • Interact regularly with internal teams across Marketing, Brand Creative, UX research, and Product VOC to extract insights and spot opportunities.

Within 6 months, you’ll be making a clear impact through:

  • Have your first performance conversation with your manager, where you’ll discuss your accomplishments in your role and work together to build goals for your professional growth.
  • Have a firm understanding of Sprout’s brand and begin identifying research opportunities to continue pushing the brand forward.
  • Have a deep understanding of ongoing research practices at Sprout.
  • Be confident designing research plans with little direction.
  • Execute complex testing independently.
  • Pull insights from data with the necessary level of detail for a given project.
  • Share findings with marketing and brand stakeholders in an engaging and actionable way.
  • Lead collaborators by sharing research best practices.

Within 12 months, you’ll make this role your own by:

  • Fully understand various stakeholder goals and craft innovative research initiatives to support those goals.
  • Ask consistently thoughtful and detail-oriented questions in planning meetings to drive customer-centric ways of thinking.
  • Quickly surface best practices and learnings from research in peer interactions.
  • Share actionable, tailored research to inform strategy that enables marketers and creatives to offer cutting-edge solutions.
  • Begin leading cross-team initiatives that provide clarity around the Sprout audience’s priorities and goals.

Whenever possible, Sprout wants to provide our team with the flexibility to work in the location that makes the most sense for them. Sprout maintains a remote workforce in many places in the United States. Individual base pay is based on various factors, including work location, relevant experience and skills, the responsibility of the role, and job duties/requirements. In the United States, we have two geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires are:

  • Zone 1 (New York, California, Washington): $95,568.00(min), $119,500.00 (mid), $143,352.00 (max) USD annually
  • Zone 2 (All other US states): $86,900.00(min), $108,600.00 (mid), $130,300.00 (max) USD annually

The listed ranges represent the full earning potential in this position. Starting salaries for well-qualified new hires are typically around the midpoint of the range. These ranges were determined by a market-based compensation approach; we used data from trusted third-party compensation sources to set equitable, consistent, and competitive ranges. We also evaluate compensation bi-annually, identify any changes in the market and make adjustments to our ranges and existing employee compensation as needed.

Base pay is only one element of an employee's total compensation at Sprout. Every Sprout team member has an opportunity to receive restricted stock units (RSUs) under Sprout’s equity plan. Employees (and their dependents) are covered by medical, dental, vision, basic life, accidental death, and dismemberment insurance, and Modern Health (a wellness benefit).  Employees are able to enroll in Sprout’s company’s 401k plan, in which Sprout will match 50% of your contributions up to 6% with a maximum contribution. Sprout offers “Flexible Paid Time Off” and ten paid holidays.
