Job Description

Carat is looking for a Senior Manager of Planning with solid media planning expertise to help maintain and grow one of our largest clients. You should have media planning experience across all channels.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Planning, the Senior Manager will be a key member of the team and a point person to our clients. You will be very hands-on and involved in the day-to-day of this account. 

As a Senior Manager of Media Planning at Carat, you are responsible for ensuring that communications strategies are effectively and accurately translated into plans as well as leading the development and implementation of those plans.In partnership with the senior leadership, you will help in setting the strategic tone for the account within your assigned division.  You are expected to have a strong working knowledge of the media landscape (including digital). 

Managing client relationships is also a key component of this role. The position can be fully remote.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for media plan output timeliness, accuracy, and overall excellence
  • Participate and help lead the strategic media planning/execution and serve as a resource for direct reports & junior staff for advice and counsel
  • Demonstrate ability to utilize resources (syndicated, proprietary, analyst data) to help guide client’s marketing goals and apply to strategic recommendations
  • Work closely with activation department leads to outline appropriate processes and timelines to ensure flawless execution
  • Understand and adopt new techniques and technologies that are relevant for clients’ media strategies
  • Provides relevant insight and input into existing and emerging media opportunities (through awareness of available media services vendors)
  • Build & maintain trusting, collaborative relationships with clients at appropriate levels
  • Accurately represent the client’s point of view when developing/reviewing work, leverage this perspective when providing feedback to team and presenting to client
  • Capable of effectively managing up and down the reporting structure
  • Provide and discuss industry information on media, markets and related dynamics
  • Train, motivate and develop media planning group
  • Construct and deliver accurate, honest and timely performance management documents

Qualifications

  • 4-6 years of media planning experience       
  • Current knowledge of trends and innovations in traditional and digital media
  • Advanced computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Proven leadership skills and management experience
  • Working knowledge of Insights tools such as MRI and Simmons and competitive tools like Nielsen Ad Intel and/or Kantar Strategy
  • Experience with Media Tools
  • Solid understanding of DFA, and other digital media related tools (comScore, eMarketer, Forrester…)

Additional Information

The anticipated salary range for this position is $68,000-$110,000. Salary is based on a variety of factors including relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and other factors permitted by law.
