Job Description Summary:

We are on a multi-year transformation journey to modernize and automate our manufacturing and warehousing, as well as to execute multiple new brownfield and greenfield expansions. The significant increase in capex requires a different approach to capex budgeting, decision making, forecasting and spending. The Capex Systems Engineering Manager will lead this for the Commercial Product Supply (CPS) organization.  This is a highly impactful role with visibility across the CPS leadership team and the global organization. The candidate should be solutions-oriented, have strong working knowledge of capex management and project management systems with a passion to build organization capability and systems needed to effectively deliver the high level of capex spend.

What You’ll do for us: The Global Capex System Engineering Manager will:

  • Lead investment project portfolio management within Global CPS Engineering, strongly partnering with each of the 19 manufacturing plants, Finance, and other central functions.
  • Own capex forecasting for CPS in partnership with Finance. Ensure accurate annual, quarterly and monthly capex forecasts.
  • Develop and improve capex management work processes, including work process simplification and digitization. Partner with plant engineering leaders to integrate multi-year capex forecasting with site masterplanning.
  • Develop Project and Capex Management capability for Engineering across all sites, creating materials, templates, and skills matrices. This includes developing Engineering work processes, and targets-based design.
  • Collaborate with sites and Global Design Engineering to drive rapid reapplication of best-in-class approaches, and methodologies for capex and project management.
  • Create capex cost database of facilities and equipment for CPS and partner with each of the plants for strategic projects so that more accurate cost estimates can be created, and benchmarking can be done across the programs and sites.
  • Work closely with procurement for driving capex effectiveness.
  • Guide project managers and site engineering managers through funding, and monitor/audit design and delivery activities to ensure executional excellence.
  • Support funding / execution strategies for complex projects.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required.
  • 5-10 years of experience in FMCG environment leading projects at a manufacturing location.
  • Mastery in project management with experience both in large and small projects. This should include actual experience in a manufacturing environment executing projects.
  • Experience in capital budgeting, forecasting. Strong knowledge of SAP for capex management.
  • Detail oriented, analytical, and creative thinker with passion to improve and digitize capex and project management work processes.
  • Excellent project management, planning and organization skills and ability to work and deliver in changing environments while adhering to specified deadlines. PMP certification is preferred.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and get results in a matrixed organization.
  • Knowledge of technical skills in FMCG industry needed. Experience in operations is preferred.
  • Experience in Complex program management / implementation, influencing and communication skills in preferred.
  • Detailed knowledge of capital project oversight including new equipment installation and vendor management.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.

Location: This role is open to remote locations within US. It is also open to other locations if there is a candidate with the right fit. 10% travel will be required.

Pay Range:

$131,000 - $153,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
