What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for consumer-facing EV charging offers, including high power charging, destination charging, home charging, and home installation services. Once in market, manage the competitiveness of these offers on an ongoing basis.
  • Drive and coordinate cross-functional charging projects with Scout R&D, Accessories, Finance, Product Marketing, and other functions necessary to build, launch, and profitability operate consumer charging and energy offers.
  • For both L1/L2 and High-Power Charging (HPC), create attractive EVSE and embedded charging offers to Scout customers, comprehensively determining equipment strategy (for L1/L2) and HPC strategy (for embedded charging) and building a defensible business case for long-term, sustainable operations.
  • In collaboration with Scout Architecture & Construction, as well as retail operations, define Scout Motors dealership charging requirements, equipment specifications, operating guidelines, and charging capacity calculations, ensuring a reliable, monitorable, and cost-effective dealership charging environment.
  • In collaboration with Scout Retail Strategy, define and document the ideal charging customer journeys and collaborate with the relevant Scout Motors functions to bring these experiences to life.
  • In collaboration with Scout Accessories, Aftersales, Parts Logistics, Retail Operations, and Digital Products, ensure that all charging and energy offers meet the necessary integration requirements and operational standards such that omni-channel ordering, accurate distribution, and in-vehicle functionality are assured for Scout end
  • Collaborate with Scout Customer Support to anticipate customer charging questions and issues, preparing thorough and accurate documentation for scaled problem-solving utilization by Customer Support agents; serve as an escalation resource, including in-field issue identification, for Scout Customer Support.
  • Build and maintain relationships with a network of CPO, EVSE, and charging service provider partners; in collaboration with Scout Purchasing, lead vendor selection process that results in high quality, reliable, and cost effective supplier-provided products and services.
  • Build and support relationships with relevant federal, state, and local government stakeholders to, among other things, monitor the development of charging and energy programs, incentives, consumer programs, and pilot studies.
  • Lead and manage submission of NEVI grant applications for relevant Scout Motors charging
  • Define and internally propagate the key messaging to support Scout charging and energy offers. Translate these into training content for both corporate and front-line retail employees, ensuring they are fully confident and comfortable explaining charging and energy topics to consumers and Scout owners.
  • In collaboration with Scout R&D, Product Marketing, and Government Relations, stay abreast of industry developments and benchmarks in the areas of bidirectional charging, home energy management, V2X, and utility-created charging and energy programs, partnering as needed to advance Scout Motors technology, vehicle capabilities, and consumer offers.
  • Create and manage a comprehensive project management roadmap to ensure that all partnerships, offers, technologies, equipment, and support are ready for the start of Scout vehicle sales.
  • Actively benchmark competitor charging offers and messaging to ensure that Scout Motors remains among the most trusted and transparent brands in this area.
  • Define KPIs to measure home, destination, and HPC charging effectiveness, utilization, and uptime, collecting the data and performing the analysis necessary to refine offers and to continuously ensure high customer satisfaction.

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events occasionally. This role will be based out of a Scout Motors location in Tysons, VA; Columbia, SC; Novi, MI; Fremont, CA; or remote. This role is not eligible for remote work in New York City. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or other relevant field.
  • 10+ years of experience developing and managing OEM or CPO charging programs and energy-related relationships and consumer offers.
  • 3+ years of managing vendor relationships related to consumer charging and energy offers, with demonstrated success in defining a customer journey and delivering high customer and vendor satisfaction.
  • Broad base of charging industry and technical knowledge and an extensive network of industry contacts across a variety of CPOs, EVSE manufacturers, and service providers. Current knowledge of trends in this space.
  • Customer-first mindset, always thinking from the point of view of a Scout customer or customer-facing Scout team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to map customer and employee journeys and collaborate with digital designers and other stakeholders to bring these experiences to life.
  • Strong project management mindset and a track record of defining complex projects and seeing them through to completion, managing teams through influence and using supporting/enabling tools such as JIRA.
  • Proven track record of building a high-performing team and developing a positive team culture.
  • Mindfulness of organizational navigation and ability to create effective cross-functional collaboration at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage effective vendor/partner relationships.
  • Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret customer feedback and translate data into actionable insights.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight

Pay Transparency

This is a full-time, exempt position eligible to receive a base salary and to participate in an annual performance bonus program. Final salary offered will be determined based on factors including but not limited to the candidate's skills and experience. The annual performance bonus program is preset and not candidate dependent.

Initial base salary range = $150,000-180,000
