ABOUT THE JOB
OneStream is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel: Compliance to join our Legal Team. The Senior Legal Counsel: Compliance this person will: review and give analysis of the applicability of legislation and regulatory requirements; and be a leader in the operationalization and implementation of various legally related compliance initiatives across the company. This person will partner with internal business stakeholders to effectively provide regulatory guidance and expertise, while helping ensure successful implementation of any requirements.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a Sr. Compliance Counsel, working with the OneStream Legal team, Compliance and Risk organization, as well as stakeholders across the company.
- Creates and maintains a comprehensive compliance program using best practices to anticipate legal challenges and mitigate risks.
- Arranges for the use of compliance tools as appropriate.
- Monitor, track, and keep abreast of all (federal, state, local, and international) proposed, pending, and existing laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to OneStream.
- Partner with key business owners to validate policies, procedures, and processes are developed, designed and implemented in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and guidelines.
- Identify emerging risks for new corporate initiatives, including appropriate recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional colleagues.
- Assist in acquisition due diligence and potential remediation/integration activities after acquisition.
- Assist with all other legal functions as needed, including but not limited to those relating to commercial transactions.
- Assist with Ad hoc projects as needed.
QUALITIES OF A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- D. from accredited US law school or international equivalent
- 5-10 years in-house counsel or law firm experience
- 2-5 years experience specifically as in-house counsel in a regulatory compliance or similar role
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Degree (Undergrad or Post Grad) relating to compliance, information assurance, or similar
- Preferred legal experience at a technology company
- Compliance related certifications (e.g. IAPP certifications for privacy and AI)
