Mercer is currently seeking a Senior Global Consultant to advise US-headquartered multinational clients on retirement and benefit issues that arise outside the US. Mercer’s Global Consulting team works with the world’s largest and most innovative companies to solve their workforce challenges and unlock the potential of their people around the world. Working in close collaboration with Mercer’s experts in Health, Wealth and Career around the world, our Global Consultants are uniquely equipped to help multinational organizations transform these and other risks into opportunities. We design global strategies with local relevance, leverage data and analytics, technology and our heritage as market-leading global actuaries and global benefits advisors to help multinationals manage the costs, risks and complexity of their global rewards programs.

What can you expect?

  • Lead client global consulting projects on behalf of US Multinational clients with support from relevant subject matter experts and consultants provide senior leadership and client relationship management for select multinational clients. This would involve acting as the lead consultant for global projects, guiding project teams in producing project deliverables and taking ownership of all related client deliverables.
  • Consolidate and review U.S. GAAP pension disclosures for U.S. multinational organizations’ significant defined benefit plans outside the U.S
  • Perform multi-country benefits due diligence for merger and acquisitions projects and provides advice on benefits integration
  • Advise clients (typically US multinationals) on all aspects of retirement and benefit programs around the world

We will count on you to:

  • Identifies appropriate resources globally to respond to specific client requests on international issues. Reviews deliverables to ensure that they meet client needs
  • Accountable for the day to day management of the activity of consultants around the world. Has ownership of all client deliverables
  • Oversees and manages the compilation of global benefit inventories for multinational clients and provides recommendations on changes to benefit programs as appropriate
  • Partners with other consultants to perform multi-country benefits due diligence for company and acquisition projects
  • Develops and maintains working relationships with key client stakeholders to transition into the role of a trusted advisor and facilitate the sharing of advice and information relevant to the client, developing new and expanded business, and gaining client referrals
  • Consolidate and review U.S. GAAP pension disclosures for U.S. multinational organizations significant defined benefit plans outside the U.S

What you need to have?

  • International benefits / US GAAP accounting experience in a consulting firm
  • BA/BS preferred
  • At least seven years of Health and Benefits, Retirement or related experience, preferably with global experience
  • Knowledge of MS Office Tools (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; strong oral and written communication skills

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $122,400 to $244,800.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
