Senior Field Property Claims Adjuster - Los Angeles/Orange County/Riverside

The Senior Field Claims Representative contributes to Wawanesa's goal of delivering an exceptional and consistent claims service experience through the fair and equitable adjustment of highly complex property claims through personal contact with insureds, claimants, and witnesses. Daily travel within Los Angeles, Orange County or Riverside is required.

Job Duties

• Provide exceptional customer service
• Interpret policy wordings, determines policy coverage and ensure appropriate reserving
• Investigate losses to determine liability, attending the loss scene as required
• Evaluate relevant information from sources such as lawyers, medical providers and other experts
• Write scope and estimate of loss using property estimating software
• Negotiate with insureds, claimants, lawyers and insurers
• Coordinate services with vendors and service providers
• Adjust claim from inception to completion in a proactive manner
• Provide ongoing technical advice and guidance to junior claims staff
• Maintain accurate records based on company standards and policies within the claims system
• Supplement the National Catastrophe Team as required for Corporate Catastrophe Response in any region
• Remain up-to-date with legislative changes and trends in the insurance industry

Qualifications

• 5+ years property claims adjusting experience
• Excellent knowledge of property estimating software, Xactware knowledge preferred
• Effective customer service skills including empathy and concern for our customers
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
• Excellent investigative and analytical skills
• Highly proficient time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast paced, changing environment
• Excellent knowledge of medical and legal terminology
• Detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Valid driver license with acceptable driving record
• College/University degree is preferred

Compensation: Depends on experience and varies by location. 

California Compensation:

• The pay range for this position is $34.95 - $52.43 per hour, depending on experience.
• This position is considered non-exempt for purposes of wage-hour law, which means you are eligible for overtime pay for hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a workweek or more than 8 hours in a workday.
