You can learn more about our values here.Over the past year we have built a next-generation multi-cell architecture and we are now looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead this Multi-cell team and drive the next stages of platform maturation.
The cell-based architecture is a large-scale, worldwide distributed system, and this team has an outsize impact on every customer of dbt Labs. Today we serve some of the largest data-driven organizations in the world, enabling them to make decisions based on the knowledge at the core of their business. The quality, reliability, and performance our cell implementation equates to leverage for analysts, analytics engineers, and data engineers in organizations of all shapes and sizes.
In this role, you can expect to:
- Build, lead, and coach a team of 5-8 engineers building the cell-based architecture for dbt Cloud.
- Empower your team to achieve big goals by giving them product and business context and supporting team ownership of the roadmap, product development lifecycle, and technical excellence.
- Develop a technical vision for the maturation of our cell architecture, control plane, and network boundaries.
- Dive deep into our product to frame tradeoffs and make decisions about what, how, and when we build.
- Partner with Product Marketing, Solutions Architecture, and Customer Support to build delightful migration experiences, helping our customers seamlessly move off legacy deployments.
- Coach engineers in product thinking, quality, and software engineering. Build individualized growth plans and match interests and capabilities to team goals.
- Work with peer managers to evolve organizational processes like product training, technical decision making, project execution, and planning.
You are a good fit if you have:
- 3+ years in people management with a software engineering team.
