Our Hiring Team's Mandate:

Identity Management (IdM) ensures that the right users access digital resources appropriately. It’s a crucial IT security and data management component within an organization. It includes supporting customers, consumers, workloads, and their workforces by accessing applications built on the League Platform.

About You:

As a Senior Software Engineer, Backend on our Identity Engineering Team, you will design, develop and scale critical identity services and middleware that power League's Platform.

You will lead complex projects from discovery to delivery, working primarily with Go, Node.js, MongoDB, Auth0, Github & GCP. You will work as part of a small team to deliver features on our roadmap and contribute to building our developer program and tools. You’ll be responsible for large pieces of work, as well as setting best practices and mentoring other members of the team with openness and empathy. To thrive in this role, you are someone who works well in teams and enjoys collaborating

What you will do:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust and scalable backend services, and data storage solutions, ensuring adherence to engineering best practices.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, proactively identifying root causes.
  • Actively participate in technical design and planning discussions, contributing to system design and documentation (including ADRs)
  • Uphold code quality standards through code reviews, bug fixes, automated tests, and performance monitoring.
  • Lead complex projects from discovery to delivery phases, including requirement gathering, design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Mentor junior engineers, fostering their growth and development.
  • Participate in our On-Call rotation

What you bring

  • You have a minimum of 5 years backend development experience
  • You enjoy delivering value to customers
  • You have experience building scalable, fault-tolerant cloud  services
  • You know how to write high-quality, testable code, and understand the tradeoffs between expediency and maintainability
  • You understand how the web works and what a good API looks like
  • When things break, you’re eager and able to help fix things

Bonus Experience

  • Experience building and maintaining environments deployed through infrastructure-as-code pipelines.
  • An understanding of basic cryptographic principles and systems.
  • Strong experience or knowledge about OAuth, OpenID Connect or FIDO standards. 
  • Experience working with Golang, Google Cloud Platform or Node.js

This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for base salaries for the position across all Canadian locations. Where in the band you may land is determined by job-related skills/experience. Compensation range for Canada applicants only$111,800—$157,500 CADOur employees come from different backgrounds, and we celebrate those differences.
