Overview

The Senior Director/Director, West Origination is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with all market participants and relevant end-users, with a specific focus on the Western US (Pacific Northwest & Desert Southwest). The position will be responsible for sourcing and structuring offtake agreements including PPAs, Utility RFPs, bilateral offtake agreements in the region.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Origination, this position will work closely with the entire Revenue team as well as other members of the Development and Finance teams at Cypress Creek Renewables. The position will enjoy extensive opportunity to support the company’s growth by delivering renewable energy solutions to its customers across the country. The position will provide critical insight into the needs of customers to help focus the Company’s customer led development strategy and product innovation. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing commercial team that is actively building a presence in the WECC renewable market.  

 

One of the following experiences is a requirement, multiple is a major plus

  • Experience originating and negotiating bilateral, term transactions in WECC
  • Experience trading the Western interconnect
  • Significant Regulatory or commercial experience with available Green Tariffs in WECC states
  • Experience supplying load in WECC or buying as an end-user

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop Origination strategy in the market
  • Responsible for building and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers
  • Contribute to marketing efforts and customer outreach to communicate key attributes of potential product offerings
  • Utilize the Company’s greenfield pipeline and existing fleet of solar and battery storage assets to structure value added products for customers
  • Support the sourcing, negotiation, and execution of long-term PPAs, VPPAs and innovative commercial structures with corporate customers across the country to facilitate the development of solar and energy storage, while meeting customers’ needs for sustainability and carbon free goals
  • Identify customer opportunities and own the pricing, structuring, and negotiation of offtake agreements, primarily PPAs
