Job Summary

The Senior Director of Payer Analytics in a pharmaceutical company is responsible for leading and managing the payer analytics team. This team is responsible for analyzing data related to payer contracts, reimbursement rates, and healthcare coverage to optimize pricing and market access strategies for the company's products.
 

Job Description

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Sr. Director, Payer Analytics will have the key responsibilities of establishing and evolving payor customer data and analytics for the U.S. payor segment
  • The candidate will be responsible for implementing a roadmap and executing the plan to incorporate individual payer customer level data into existing company tools and processes so that payer digital engagement tactics can be targeted, measured, and analyzed
  • Generate insights to advise on US market access readiness launch planning including evaluating in-market analogs, launch pricing, payer/PBM utilization management, HCP/hospital economics (e.g. white, brown bagging, buy-bill, etc.), value based agreements and other related landscape activities
  • The role will actively monitor payer, IDN, policy, competitor and market conditions to inform critical decisions and shape future access strategies
  • Inform volume and share projections for customer bids (commercial and gov’t), pre and post contract evaluation in concert with pricing/finance
  • Experience working with Rx, patient claims, pricing (WAC) and managed markets data sources (e.g. IQVIA, SHS, MMIT, Komodo, Clarivate, IPD Analytics, Analysource, SSR, and related)
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including commercial, finance, and medical affairs, to ensure alignment and integration of payer analytics strategies
  • Serve as an advocate in integrating payer analytics cross-functionally, develop strong partnerships with brand, market access, patient services, insights/analytics teams in support of common brand access goals
  • Managing relationships with external vendors and partners to support payer analytics initiatives
  • Staying up-to-date on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies related to payer analytics

Qualifications/ Required

Knowledge/ Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of 10+ years of relevant access experience
  • Demonstrated success as a strategic advisor to business leaders as well as shaping and influencing without authority
  • High degree of intellectual curiosity; strong learning agility and demonstrated success solving ambiguous business issues
  • Experience working with Rx, patient claims, pricing (WAC) and managed markets data sources (e.g. IQVIA, SHS, MMIT, Komodo, Clarivate, IPD Analytics)
  • Storytelling, data visualization and developing effective presentations

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with small molecules and biologics
  • In-depth knowledge of market access dynamics (e.g. payers, IDNs, specialty pharmacy, patient access, trade distribution)
  • Prior experience working in managed markets in consultancy; with a health insurer/carrier or health system
  • Proven success in people management; leading and developing others
  • Knowledge of statistical techniques and concepts (test/control, model selection and hypothesis testing, statistical inference, promotional response modeling etc.)

Educational Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role should possess a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field such as healthcare management, economics, or business administration.

Minimum $225,490.00 - Maximum $337,180.00, plus incentive opportunity: The range shown represents a typical pay range or starting salary for candidates hired to perform the work. Other elements may be used to determine actual salary such as the candidate’s job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in role.
