THE ROLE:

As the Senior Director of the Global Payments Center of Excellence, you will be responsible for setting the global operations strategy and owning the market expansion roadmap. You will understand market requirements, local payment schemes, competitors, and the partnerships needed to support our clients. The role will drive set up of new countries & licenses with appropriate banking and regulatory authorities. You will lead a team of Payments, Analytics, and Partnership Specialists and work closely with the Product, Operations, Sales, and Platform teams to scale our payments operations globally. Additionally, your team will work cross-functionally with finance, treasury, and accounting teams to optimize pricing and costs to ensure the success of the commerce platform. This is a highly collaborative and cross-functional role, and part of your job will be to set up and run the right operating mechanisms across all of ABC’s global platforms.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:    

  • Establish a global operational center of excellence for ABC billing, collections, and payments.
  • Manage strategic global partnerships with Payment Service Providers (PSPs), banks, card networks, fintech's, and processors, including Stripe, Worldpay, GoCardless, Amazon Pay, Plaid, Visa, and Mastercard.
  • Drive market expansion and enablement plans through market analysis, partner capability assessments, competitive intelligence, pricing benchmarking, and addressing local risks, regulatory requirements, and licensing needs to support growth in new and existing markets.
  • Utilize analytics, insights and end-to-end payment processing flow mapping to develop and deploy plans to optimize global money movement flows for ecommerce, mobile, POS, recurring billing across all ABC platforms, including Ignite, Glofox, Trainerize, and EVO.
  • Lead business performance measurement by building and deploying new real-time dashboards to track collection rates by cohort, billing, and payment KPI insights, enabling better business operations.
  • Launch and manage a Global Command Center for real-time systems monitoring, alerts, and observability capabilities, enabling a proactive operating model.
  • Identify opportunities to generate incremental cost savings and revenue, such as authorization improvements, debit least-cost routing, card tokenization strategies, card network interchange optimization, and partner contract pricing enhancements.
  • Deploy global best practices, including strategic recommendations for optimizing card capture, bank direct debit (DD) and Pay by Bank processes, transaction data, authorization response handling, and processing timing to maximize billing, collections, and payment processing efficiency.
  • Collaborate with leaders from Product, Operations, Finance, Engineering, Legal, Accounting, Customer Success, and Sales teams to grow our largest clients, support the sales pipeline, enable market expansion, and deploy optimization strategies.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

  • 15+ years in a product operations, management role, or a general manager role for a payments, processing, banking or global SaaS platform
  • Proven track record of setting a successful strategy and growing a highly impactful payments business or product
  • Demonstrated experience partnering closely with sales, finance, data/analytics, engineering external partners to drive market expansion programs and manage complex business operations
  • Experience building and managing a diverse set of payments, processing, banking, network and fintech partnerships
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and influence senior user-facing and partner-facing stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for precise and concise articulation of user problems
  • Analytical mindset, proven experience working cross-functionally to turn data insights into strategic decisions
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment with significant autonomy and responsibility
  • Background delivering successfully on multi-quarter roadmaps and aligning diverse stakeholders to achieve shared goals
  • Strong business acumen and comfort with complex ecosystem and platform-level problems

Please note that the salary information shown below is a general guideline only and based on employees in the United States and may be different in other countries. Salaries are based upon candidate experience, qualifications, and location, as well as market and business considerations. Our pay range for U.S. based candidates for this position is $119,000 -- $132,500 USD annually. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation such as bonuses and commissions.
