As the Senior Director of Global Corporate Communications, this person will help lead the team that communicates everything to Viatris’ global colleagues – from company strategy and corporate developments to key engagement programs and initiatives. To be successful, the individual in this role will be responsible for increasing engagement and connectivity and have an in-depth understanding of communications, strong executive presence, judgment, and writing skills. They will create new and compelling ways to deliver information and engage Viatris colleagues across various channels and mediums in ways that excite and motivate them to bring their best to work and drive our future together.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

  • Support efforts to shape, implement and synchronize communications programs to build Viatris’ reputation as a great place to work, attract top talent, and raise relevancy and reputation with internal and external stakeholders across channels.

  • Partner with cross functional teams to help drive communications initiatives that engage a global, company-wide audience, cultivates a deep understanding of our strategic objectives and maximizes employee engagement and connection.

  • Ensure communications to various stakeholder audiences are clear, effective, and consistent with our overall communication strategy and messaging.

  • Direct support of Executive Leadership members representing enabling functions such as legal, IT and Corporate Affairs.

  • Help lead the Executive Leadership Communications Council.

  • Support the implementation of big internal projects like Impact Week, Global Town Halls.

  • Help drive company-wide communications and meetings as well as other high-stakes addresses from senior leaders to employees.

  • Develop programs to engage colleagues around corporate strategy and business priorities/milestones.

  • Create new programs and communications strategies that encourage employees to celebrate and take pride in our company and inspire them to act as our brand advocates in the world.

  • Help manage employee engagement communications programs including strategy, execution and measurement for People/HR Strategy.

  • Support creation and development of new programs and communications strategies that encourage employees to celebrate and take pride in our company and inspire them to act as our brand advocates in the world.

  • Partner with cross functional teams to establish moments for in-office/person connections or other surprise-and-delight moments.

  • Be hands-on in developing, reviewing, and editing company-wide communications, including emails, presentations, audio, video, and more.

  • Build PowerPoint presentations and other assets to support internal and external storytelling as needed and aligned to business objectives.

  • Analyze the success of communications programs and takes action to tweak or reinvent them to improve engagement.

Here are the minimum qualifications for this position:

  • A bachelor’s degree with a focus on Internal Communications and Employee Engagement or related field, required.  Master’s degree preferred.

  • 15+ years of experience in corporate communications, internal communications, or public relations, with at least 3 years in a senior leadership role.

  • Pharma industry experience a plus.

  • This role has hybrid flexibility with a preference for the role to be based in New York City, Washington, DC or Pittsburgh metropolitan area.  We will consider candidates from East Coast United States location.  

  • Business travel expected in this role.

  • Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English is required.

Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. The salary range for this position is $151,000 - $250,000.
