Senior Director, Developer Services Delivery - Intelligent Infrastructure

The Intelligent Infrastructure Business Unit provides planning, design, program management, construction management, and software solutions to a wide range of infrastructure clients, mainly in North America. We are an industry leader in successfully delivering complex, challenging, and high-profile infrastructure projects across all project delivery models, including integrated delivery (public-private partnership, design-build, construction management at-risk) and traditional delivery.

Parsons is looking for a Senior Director to join Intelligent Infrastructure and lead the software side of the biggest traffic solution portfolio in the nation impacting millions of people a day. Overseeing technology service delivery, you will be in charge of technical excellence for the full staff handling a strong base of projects in a core market where Parsons has a well-established reputation. As the leader of the group, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the strategy for implementation of an innovative application lifecycle management process serving the transportation services industry.

This people manager will have four, senior level direct reports each leading large teams that represent regions across North America. You and your team will partner with internal stakeholders to optimize the use of Data, AI and Cloud technologies to elevate customer value and improve operational efficiencies. And your expertise on software delivery practices and ability to keep cohesion on the full spectrum of projects will insure operational excellence and system modernization. You will be a key member of the Intelligent Infrastructure Leadership Team, promoting efficient utilization of resources and workforce upskill.

This position is remote/virtual office and can be based anywhere in the US.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead and manage a nationwide, software engineering team to support million dollar design programs

  • Supervise a large-scale organization of 80 engineers across the US

  • Train and manage resources including staff workloads, career planning, individual development plans, including one-on-one conversations, salary recommendations, etc.

  • Close collaboration with the PM Delivery teams to efficiently assign resources and skillsets to projects.

  • Partner with the Product team to ensure solid software integration to projects, good implementation practices including updated versions.  

  • Actively engage with Traffic Engineering Technical Organization within Parsons to share or seek resources as needed.

  • Create a challenging professional environment of innovation, opportunity, development, and continuous improvement for the team focused on staff growth and succession planning.

  • Plan, monitor and ensure compliance with scope, schedule, and budgetary constraints on multiple projects.

  • Strategize and engage in hiring decisions to achieve organic growth. Identify and develop high-potential talent.

  • Maintain current knowledge of project pipeline for key clients

  • Bring technically savvy improvements to the engineering execution / delivery process. Run agile.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring

  • 4-year degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering (or related field)

  • 15 years or more of work experience managing software delivery practices

  • Exceptional leadership skills

  • Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills

What Desired Skills You’ll Bring

  • Experience working in the transportation industry

Salary Range: 

$165,000.00 - $310,000.00
