Your opportunity
As Senior Director Associate General Counsel, you will serve as New Relic’s lead attorney for all corporate, securities and M&A legal work as well as take on other special projects. This role will be a primary legal business partner for New Relic’s finance and corporate development teams, and will also engage with C-level executives, the Board of Directors, partners and customers - inside and outside of New Relic.
New Relic is looking for a confident self-starter who can prioritize and manage multiple corporate responsibilities and who enjoys working in a fast-paced and high-energy environment. This role requires a cross-functional specialist who can cultivate alignment, optimize processes, and ensure the effective delivery against business goals. You must have the ability to devise, iterate and drive alignment on company strategies as well as the ability to dive into the details to ensure a high bar of execution as well as continuous progress.
What you'll do
- Work on a globally dispersed team within New Relic Legal, with a primary focus on corporate securities, corporate development, and M&A
- Handle and oversee the legal work involved in the company’s global regulatory filings
- Manage the administration of New Relic’s global corporate subsidiaries
- Advise our stock administration team
- Assist in drafting and reviewing public disclosures and corporate communications
- Evaluate issues from legal and business perspectives with a practical, business-oriented approach to problem solving
- Update and guide senior leadership and the Board of Directors on current corporate developments, issues, and risks, and provide regular status updates on progress and status of initiatives and operations
- Work on other corporate and securities projects, including public company readiness workstreams
- Help build a best-in-class corporate and securities function, developing processes that will scale into future stages of company growth
This role requires
- 7+ years of professional experience, which must include substantial relevant time at a major law firm
- Extensive experience advising on SEC regulations, compliance, and corporate governance matters
- Excellent written, oral, and negotiation communication skills
- Flexibility and willingness to work on a broad range of legal matters
- Ability to work on your own and prioritize multiple, often competing deliverables while managing expectations meeting deadlines
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate effectively and gain trust and confidence with personnel at many different levels
- Ability to work as a team member of the legal department in a scalable, autonomous and accountable manner, demonstrating flexibility across matter types and time zones
- Strategic and analytical problem solver with ability to identify areas for collaborative advantage

The pay range below represents a reasonable estimate of the salary for the listed position. This role is eligible for a corporate bonus plan. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related factors such as an applicant’s skills, qualifications, and experience.
