Demonstrate sophisticated expertise in fundamental credit analysis along with intimate knowledge of capital markets, and creatively applies this knowledge to client needs. Recommendations should appropriately consider RGA's risk and return parameters. Actively advocate for the uniform application of RGA's credit culture in all applicable interactions. Provide leadership in the development and mentoring of junior analysts.
What you will do
Employ leadership in the design and advocacy of a credit culture within the credit department, the investment department and the company as a whole. Provide leadership in the development and mentoring of junior analysts. Show leadership in initiatives to improve credit monitoring and processes.
Conduct sophisticated fundamental and relative value analysis at the industry and individual credit levels and recommend investments appropriate to RGA’s risk and return parameters.
Source and synthesize a wide variety of data pertaining to any assigned credit or industry in an efficient and precise manner. The data includes but is not limited to earnings reports, company presentations, industry data, , rating agency considerations and macro economic climate. Identify avenues for event risk and challenges facing the credit and sector. Generate well framed questions and targeted lines of inquiry for varied audiences (rating agency analysts, management etc.) that would contribute to well supported conclusions
Develop productive relationships with company management, sell side analysts, rating agency analysts and other avenues of information. Maintain current knowledge of investment practices, trends and applications.
Persuasively support thesis to an audience that includes peers and senior level management. Actively listen to differing opinions and assess the validity of these points of view.
Independently produce high quality substantive written reports that are clear and concise and demonstrate the strengths and risks of a credit as well as a well-supported recommendation for action.
Participate in department projects as needed. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) in Business, Economics, Finance or related field required
Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) MBA graduate preferred
CFA accreditation preferred
6+ years of investment fundamental analysis experience
Highly advanced analytical and presentation skills that can be applied to quantitative and qualitative data capacity to absorb and apply information in an efficient and accurate manner.
Advanced verbal and written skills to be able to clearly and concisely communicate research and ideas.
Ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions
Negotiating and persuasion skills
Knowledge of accounting and quantitative analysis
Experience with spreadsheet, word processing and presentation software in the optimal use of provided data resources which would include Bloomberg and Blackrock
Ability to: focus in an open environment quickly, adapt to new methods, work under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
Ability to set goals and handle multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously; appropriately balance priorities, deadlines, and deliverables work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects
Provide customer service in a satisfactory manner

Compensation Range:
$123,500.00 - $184,050.00 AnnualBase pay varies depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and market location. In addition, RGA provides an annual bonus plan that includes all roles and some positions are eligible for participation in our long-term equity incentive plan. RGA also maintains a full range of health, retirement, and other employee benefits.
