The following position is to join our RTX Corporate Legal Team:

RTX is looking for an experienced Senior Counsel, Antitrust & Competition Law to advise the corporation, including its operating business units, on substantive antitrust and competition law matters. The candidate will report to the Vice President, Antitrust, Competition & Regulatory Affairs, and will be responsible for advising on and interfacing with senior executives and business leaders on areas such as mergers and acquisitions structuring, drafting, negotiation, review and approval; ongoing compliance and counseling matters; and engagement with global antitrust and competition law authorities.

What You Will Do

  • Help to facilitate execution of key strategic transactions for the corporation and its business units; will help to ensure timely, accurate, and actionable counseling regarding ongoing antitrust and competition matters worldwide; and will help facilitate engagement with antitrust and competition law authorities and regulators worldwide.
  • Develop strategy by gaining a deep knowledge of RTX's business, across the whole scope of the enterprise, for the purpose of understanding the relevant antitrust and competition law application to RTX's businesses, and for providing appropriate advice and counsel regarding the same.
  • Interact with a very broad range of RTX employees, from General Counsel and senior strategy / business development leaders, to business unit leadership, to line leaders across the enterprise.  Externally, the role interfaces with external counsel and customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
  • Contribute to short and mid-term strategies, such as compliance and counseling, engagement with regulatory authorities; in addition, long-term strategies, such as portfolio transactions, acquisitions and divestitures to position RTX for long-term growth and profitability
  • Will travel minimally, if working remotely.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Juris Doctorate and a minimum 10 years of relevant experience
  • Must be admitted to the bar of at least one state
  • Mastery within multiple areas of antitrust and competition law, including regulatory requirements, advice and counseling, and M&A transaction structuring, advice, drafting, counseling, review and approvals.
  • Excellent analytical skills, strong and clear verbal and written communications skills, and a clear sense of the practical application of the law to RTX's business.
  • U.S Person (U.S Citizen, Permanent Resident, Refugee, or Asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Minimum 3 years of experience at a top law firm.
  • Ability to work onsite or hybrid in Farmington, CT

The salary range for this role is 171,000 USD - 343,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
