Summary:

In this role, you will support ongoing development and oversee the implementation of physician variation management solutions in partnership with Excelerate and Vizient providers as well as serve as a physician preference item (PPI) workstream lead for Excelerate and PPI engagements. Excelerate is a provider-led, physician-engaged change management model jointly owned by Cleveland Clinic, OhioHealth, and Vizient.  This unique model delivers solutions that allow its members to capitalize on recurring physician/clinical variation and sustainable cost containment opportunities. 

Responsibilities:

  • Work with Excelerate team and provider physicians to inventory, catalog, and formalize processes to identify where physician variation exists; particularly around resources and supplies (diagnostic imaging, lab, pre-op testing, location of care, implants, pharmaceuticals, and more).

  • Contribute to the development of a repeatable program to influence and guide change on how physicians and health systems reduce variation in resource consumption.

  • Contribute directly to the success of Excelerate members by developing and delivering content for provider medical director calls and the Medical Advisory Board.

  • Initiate and lead new Excelerate/PPI engagements.

  • Engage supply chain leaders, physicians and executives to drive successful engagements in maximizing cost savings and eliminating unwarranted variation.

  • Mentor others to deliver on variation management opportunities.

  • Manage project budgets, define and be accountable for provider goals, and hold others accountable for meeting standards.

  • Contribute to an existing exceptional team engagement culture. 

Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree preferred. Clinical, business, or related field desired.

  • 7 or more years of relevant experience required.

  • Demonstrated aptitude for analyzing and interpreting clinical and cost data, coupled with the ability to identify variations and opportunities for cost savings, is required.

  • Proven track record in program development and effective management of physician change initiatives.

  • Experience managing large complex projects.

  • Strong presentation skills tailored to various professional audiences including clinical experts.

  • Ability to drive change and work in ambiguous situations.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to develop effective relationships with different levels of management and clinical experts.

  • Willingness to travel.

Estimated Hiring Range:

At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $135,200.00 to $223,200.00.

This position is also incentive eligible.
