Job Description:

Apply your expertise to advance the mission and optimize our business strategy as a Senior Communications Specialist at GDIT. Here, you’ll support solving some of our clients’ biggest challenges and help us grow the business.

Our work depends on a Senior Communications Specialist joining our team to support the Indian Health Service (IHS) Electronic Health Records (EHR) program. As a Senior Communications Specialist supporting the IHS EHR program, you will provide communications efforts under the PMO team.

This role is fully remote!

HOW A COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

  • Participates in the development, revision, and delivery of internal and external communications materials

  • Perform communication and administrative tasks in support of the program contract

  • Develop communication materials including talking points, PowerPoint presentations, reports, infographics, briefing memos, emails, meeting agendas

  • Review subject matter expert materials to ensure content aligns with key messaging

  • Coordinate and organize Sharepoint working files

  • Support internal communications and information sharing among core team

  • Ensure brand consistency for customer deliverables

  • Participate in external stakeholder meetings related to key communication activities

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to obtain key program information and coordinate communication plans and messaging with external stakeholders and partners

  • Support development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic communications plans including audience identification, message development, channel identification, and evaluation practices


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5+ years of experience supporting communications, change management, project management, public relations, or marketing for federal government, private health care or health related organizations

  • Experience supporting and delivering communications projects and tasks  

  • Knowledge of communications activities and resources that deliver project outcomes as defined by program requirements

  • A background of tracking and reporting on project outcomes as they pertain to communications

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Adobe Suite

  • Extensive understanding of communication processes and practices including strategic communication planning, audience identification and analysis, development of communication products (including PowerPoint presentations, reports, talking points, briefing memos, email templates, etc.), implementation and execution of communication campaigns, and evaluation of communication activities and tasks

  • Must be able to obtain a Public Trust Level 5 clearance

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the year, if needed

​DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 8+ years of relevant communications experience

  • Experience with medium to large IT projects to include performance reporting and system setup is a plus

  • Strong writing skills, public speaking skills, and ability to be able to convey complex technical knowledge into plain language for multiple audiences

  • Experience supporting a federal contract program

  • Strong facilitation skills to engage with external stakeholders and partners

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to manage frequently changing priorities of competing importance

  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with internal/external teams including key stakeholders and customers

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within tight deadlines, following detailed written policies, processes, procedures, and work instructions

  • Ability to produce high-quality documentation that contributes to the overall success of our program

The likely salary range for this position is $83,300 - $112,700. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
