Senior Buyer

Leidos is seeking a Buyer located in our Huntsville, AL facility. The Buyer is responsible for the procurement of various components, machines, and equipment. Additionally, they would assist with strategic efforts and complex awards.

Primary Responsibilities

• Execute purchase order awards on behalf of Leidos
• Purchase order administration/file maintenance in accordance with any applicable FAR/DFAR requirements
• Conducting price and cost analysis, which requires clear communication abilities
• Negotiating price/cost, price/cost-related terms, and other purchase order/subcontract provisions
• Procurement of awards with varying levels of complexity and risk
• Completes larger procurements with some manager oversight
• Support internal customer goals and manage expectations surrounding procurement activities
• Completes larger procurements with little manager oversight.
• Assist with strategic efforts and provide dedicated program support, as needed

Basic Qualifications

• A minimum of a Bachelors degree coupled with 4-6 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience, OR high school diploma, coupled with equivalent experience
• Prior experience buying tangible goods is required
• Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Strong Customer Service mentality
• FAR/DFARs experience required
• Ability to multi-task and strong organizational skills.

Costpoint experience preferred.

Terms and Conditions negotiation experience preferred.
