We are pioneering the future of landscaping with our autonomous mower – Scythe M.52 – and are seeking a highly motivated and self-driven Sales Specialist to help accelerate its growth trajectory. If you are an experienced sales professional who thrives in fast-paced environments, has a knack for innovation, and understands how to build meaningful relationships in a tech-forward landscape, this role is designed for you.
As a Sales Specialist, you will own the entire sales cycle for your region, from identifying and qualifying leads to closing deals. You will play a key role in scaling Scythe’s success by selling our transformative technology and educating and influencing the landscaping industry. Your role will encompass a combination of remote and in-person engagement, allowing you to dive deep into customer needs while driving opportunities that directly impact our company's growth.
In this position, you will work closely with teammates from across Scythe to further drive industry interest in M.52 by promoting our game-changing products while delivering customer insights back to the broader organization. The lessons you learn from customers will be instrumental in development efforts to ensure that we serve and delight our operating partners — commercial landscapers.
What you’ll do at Scythe
- Own the full sales cycle, driving new revenue by identifying high-potential leads and converting them into long-term customers
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with prospects and clients, demonstrating how Scythe’s autonomous solutions address key operational pain points
- Deliver impactful pitches through site visits, remote outreach, and in-person demonstrations to showcase Scythe’s game-changing products
- Collaborate upstream with Marketing to accelerate the sales cycle and downstream with Account Management ensure our customers’ success
- Represent Scythe at industry conferences, events, and site visits, positioning yourself as a thought leader in autonomous technology for the landscaping industry through 1:1 engagement, panel discussions, and presentations
What you know well
- Proven experience with 2-5 years in sales or business development, ideally within landscaping or outdoor power equipment industries
- Customer relationship management and engagement with leadership members of companies ranging from $5M - $500M in annual revenue
- Excellent interpersonal skills for building relationships, networking, and managing various customer needs
- Strong phone presence and confidence in cold-calling and client engagement
- Persuasive verbal and written communication skills to effectively demonstrate product benefits and close deals
- Understanding of industry trends, consumer psychology, and sales/marketing strategies
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address customer questions and concerns
- Proficiency in CRM software (we use HubSpot).
- Experience with driving a truck & trailer
What you’ve maybe done
- Experience selling automation or robotics solutions and comfortably explaining technical concepts to non-technical prospects.
- Background in selling equipment or services to the landscaping industry.
- Participation in conferences or seminars to promote product features and develop client relationships
Travel Requirements
Travel up to 50% of the time for:
- On-site demos and customer visits
- Team off-sites and strategic meetings
- Conferences and industry events

Scythe is a total compensation company, which provides employees a comprehensive salary, equity, and benefit package. However, only the minimum salary amounts are listed here. Scythe carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including education, years of experience, competencies and other relevant business considerations. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary along with your compensation mode preferences. The Sales Specialist position has an expected minimum annual cash salary of $75,000. The actual pay may be higher depending on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Equity and benefits packages are NOT included in this estimate. Please note that this information is provided for those hired in Colorado only, and this role is open to candidates outside of Colorado as well.
