MaxMind (www.maxmind.com) is looking for a talented Sales Development Representative to join our team. We help protect thousands of companies worldwide from fraud, screening over three billion online transactions each year, and we provide IP intelligence data to thousands more.  In this role, you will play an important role in building our customer base and growing our current relationships. 
We are hiring anywhere in the following US states: CA, CT, CO, FL, GA, LA, MA, MN, MT, NV, NJ, NY State (excluding New York City and Yonkers), NC, OR, PA, RI, TX, WA, & WV with a preference for those able to work Eastern Time hours. 
This is a full time remote position.
MaxMind does not currently sponsor US employment visas. You must be eligible and authorized to work in the US.
Position overview
As a Sales Development Representative, you will work closely with our Sales and Business Development teams to expand MaxMind’s customer base. You will often be the first touchpoint in the sales cycle, responsible for lead qualification, prospecting, and follow-up. 
The role offers a base salary plus commission.  Our base salary range for the Sales Development role is $60,000 - $70,000 USD, with on-target earnings of $80,000-$90,000 and no cap on commission.  The base salary is dependent on skills and experience. Key Responsibilities Include

  • Identify current customers for license expansion 
  • Educating leads about MaxMind and its products 
  • Researching and qualifying potential leads
  • Reaching out to potential customers via outbound emails and calls 
  • Building reports for Business Development team 
  • Updating our CRM system 
  • Lead follow-up 
  • Being creative in identifying new commercial opportunities and revenue sources 
  • Setting phone/video meetings for prospects with Business Development Associates

Minimum Qualifications

  • Good problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and communication skills
  • Ability to interact with customers in a courteous and professional manner
  • Tech savvy (e.g., know what an IP address is, have an understanding of how computers and the Internet work)
  • A self-starter who can work well independently and as part of a team

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with a ticketing system and/or customer relationship management system

Our Interview Process
One of the first steps in our interviewing process is a homework assignment, and we will ask you for a submission so we can gain insight into your work. The following step of our interview process would be a first round interview with our hiring manager and our Sales Development Representative. This interview will cover questions specific to the role. Next, there would be a final interview with our hiring manager and COO. That interview would be a more general / behavioral interview. The final step of our hiring process is reference checking.
