Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking a Remote Cloud Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position can be worked remotely. The qualified applicant will become part of Peraton’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Infrastructure Managed Services (IMS) Program, for the US Coast Guard (CG). This initiative is modernizing and consolidating the operational environment under a common technology framework in order to better support the services provided to CGs customers. As part of the program, the Cloud Engineer will be responsible for proactively leading architecture decision making and work as part of a team designing, automating, and deploying services to AWS.

Day to Day Work Responsibilities:
- Work with engineering teams on a wide variety of AWS projects, including migration, containerization and transformation
- Write infrastructure as code; develops, maintains, and deploys infrastructure as code using CI/CD pipelines
- Perform AWS environment troubleshooting and setup
- Administrate automated deployments and scripting using Bash, PowerShell and/or Python
- Participate in work sessions with clients
- Design complex systems using a hybrid cloud architecture and microservices.
- Develop automated unit and integration tests and incorporate them in CI/CD pipelines.
- Create and implement automated configuration and deployment processes to enhance the performance, accessibility, and ease of management of platforms and related services.
- Utilize scripting tools to craft self-service capabilities within the Platform as a Service (PaaS), fostering a seamless developer experience for development teams.
- Collaborate closely with developers and service line owners to diagnose and troubleshoot problems, ensuring smooth operations.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; minimum of 12 years with High School Diploma
- U.S. Citizenship required; must have the ability to secure Secret clearance upon hire
- 5+ years’ experience in cloud computing
- Hands-on experience in AWS provisioning
- Experience administering AWS and Azure Gov Cloud environments in compliance with DoD standards
- Experience managing common AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, VPC, CloudFormation etc.)
