We are seeking a talented individual to join our team at Guy Carpenter. This role will be based in Edina, Minnesota. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Client Support Services (CSS) is comprised of global service teams who are assigned to specific client (customer) accounts to handle contracts, claims, and accounting. The Reinsurance Specialist is responsible for the technical processing of premiums for specifically assigned client accounts, ensuring strict compliance with Guy Carpenter’s operational guidelines.

We will count on you to:

  • Manage an assigned client portfolio, ensuring timely follow-up and accurate entry of reinsurance premiums and client activity.

  • Collaborate with other departments to support collection and cash application initiatives as needed.

  • Ensure timely settlement of funds to and from clients, adhering to all applicable payment warranties and conditions.

  • Complete assigned tasks accurately and in accordance with Service Level Attributes (SLAs).

  • Provide detailed information on client-specific accounting and claims activities to support sales opportunities.

  • Build and maintain relationships with Brokers, Clients, and Markets to effectively resolve issues and queries.

  • Actively participate in team meetings, sharing knowledge and contributing to outcomes while fostering strong working relationships.

  • Support and mentor less experienced colleagues, collaborate on reinsurance developments, and participate in training sessions to enhance team capabilities.

What you need to have:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of professional experience in insurance, reinsurance, or risk management.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with strong attention to detail in task completion.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a high-performance team and manage workload while meeting Client and Stakeholder expectations.

  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, delivering clear messages, and promoting the Guy Carpenter brand.

  • Capable of making sound judgments independently and providing effective solutions to problems while knowing when to escalate issues.

  • Committed to mentoring colleagues and consistently delivering superior Client service.

What makes you stand out:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with strong knowledge of reinsurance concepts, principles, and relevant laws and regulations (e.g., FATCA).

  • Proven track record in successful Client account and relationship management, with strong verbal and written communication skills for complex interactions.

  • Familiarity with contract law, regulatory controls, and general business trends, along with previous knowledge of reinsurance and insurance concepts preferred.

Marsh McLennan is committed to hybrid work, which includes the flexibility of working remotely and the collaboration, connections and professional development benefits of working together in the office. All Marsh McLennan colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office-based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $61,300 to $103,500.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
