Location: Remote (Candidates based in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Ontario, Nova Scotia or willing to relocate)

 

Description: 

The Regional Desk Officer will set the vision and strategy for WES’ in-country presence in our priority international regions and markets. This role requires a deep understanding of a designated region’s education landscape and a strong commitment to guiding WES into its global expansion in international higher education spaces. The Regional Desk Officer plays a pivotal role in implementing the in-country strategy by managing activities, programs, and partnerships within a specific country or geographic region. This role will leverage both internal and external key stakeholders to advance WES’ reach in global higher education programs and institutions. The Regional Desk Officer will possess and demonstrate the experience to understand where WES can be a strong voice of influence in a specific region, and where WES should just observe the trends and conversations, in alignment with our goals and values.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Define and execute the strategy to establish WES’ in-country presence in priority regions and countries
  • Identify, establish, and manage a network of key partnerships with educational institutions, government agencies, and NGO’s within the country/region to foster collaboration and resource sharing arrangements
  • Serve as WES’ primary resource for educational developments for assigned region(s)
  • Monitor market developments and trends in education systems and qualifications within the assigned region
  • Submit conference proposals for relevant events, initiatives, and projects to further WES’ presence and impact
  • Represent WES by presenting at global conferences, seminars, webinars, and other external events.
  • Conduct research and analyze data of educational developments to provide insights and recommendations for WES’ services, products, and opportunities to be an influencer in international higher education spaces
  • Use WES data to generate high-impact content for external communication and publications
  • Coordinate country visits for senior staff by organizing in-country engagements and meetings to ensure seamless interactions and productive outcomes
  • Oversee the development of country profiles with key features of education systems including data analysis on credentials, majors, grading patterns, and outcomes
