The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for managing the procurement process to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role involves coordinating with suppliers, issuing and maintaining accurate purchasing records, and ensuring compliance with company policies and standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external vendors.
Requirements
Position Responsibilities:
- Procurement Management:
- Source and evaluate suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Place and track purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
- Negotiate terms, pricing, and contracts with vendors to optimize cost savings.
- Vendor Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
- Address and resolve any supplier-related issues or discrepancies.
- Monitor vendor performance and provide feedback to ensure continuous improvement.
- Inventory and Records Management:
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier information.
- Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages or overstocking.
- Collaborate with warehouse and operations teams to ensure proper receipt and storage of goods.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
- Prepare and present regular reports on purchasing activities, cost analysis, and supplier performance.
- Stay updated on market trends and industry developments to inform purchasing decisions.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with internal departments (e.g., finance, logistics, and production) to understand purchasing needs.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting for procurement-related expenses.
- Support other administrative tasks as needed within the procurement team.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain coordination.
- Experience in negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
- Experience with ERP (NetSuite) management is preferred.
Other Requirements:
- Familiarity with procurement regulations and compliance standards.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities.
