Primary purpose
Provides consulting, analytics, training, and development services to clients. Helps healthcare facilities and software vendors understand and submit data on healthcare associated infections (HAI) to a national surveillance system. Leveragse analytic skills and public-health knowledge to provide actionable insights.
A successful candidate will:
- Develop trainings, project updates, and presentations on CDCâs National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN) HAI work for clients, stakeholders, and partners.
- Provide direct end-user education and technical support.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to plan, develop, and implement projects; maintain documentation of processes and procedures.
- Test application(s) and provide feedback to software developers and quality-assurance technicians.
- Conduct analyses of healthcare and public-health data in SAS; interpret, summarize, and present findings to relevant stakeholders.
- Develop materials, review documentation, troubleshoot issues, and report results.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and changes.
Requirements
- Bachelorâs degree in Public Health or other health-science fieldÂ
- At least one year of relevant work experienceÂ
- Experience with public-health surveillance systems and a demonstrated understanding of key surveillance principles and practices
- Experience using SAS or R to import and manipulate data/datasets and to conduct analyses to summarize surveillance data and evaluate data qualityÂ
- Ability to communicate complex data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team
- Attention to detail
- Ability to successfully complete a Position of Public Trust Level 5 background investigationÂ
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masterâs degree in Public Health or other health-science fieldÂ
- Experience with HAI dataÂ
- Knowledge of NHSNÂ
