Proposal Development Engineer - Power & Renewables - Remote, United States

The Opportunity

The Proposal Development Engineer will be responsible for managing the development of technical proposals and project cost estimates in collaboration with the sales and technical teams. The objective of the position is to produce high-quality competitive bids by using tools to create project deliverables and cost estimates. The Proposal Development Engineer will also have the opportunity to participate in continuous improvements of the proposal processes.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Manages all aspects of the proposal process and timelines ensuring accountabilities for all stakeholders.
  • Leads the draft response document and draft estimate creation efforts and collaborates with pursuit team to ensure accuracy of inputs.
  • Partners with technical, sales, and field services teams to secure input from all stakeholders.
  • Optimize scope to address client needs and ensure our response is clear and compelling.
  • Maintain company-wide consistency for proposals, templates, corporate guidelines, and other standards and industry best practices
  • Prepare proposal development plan (PDP), manage assignments, manage communication, and overall organization of the proposal response.
  • Manage/facilitate subcontractor elements of a proposal, if needed.
  • Responsible for the integrity of CRM data for opportunities in the Develop stage 
  • Lead internal opportunity specific meetings. 
  • Participate in the development of new processes, efficiency tools, and databases at the team and company level.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

What We Expect from You

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, structural, mechanical, or civil) or technical field related to power or renewables 
  • 1-5 years of experience in proposals, project management, and/or engineering in the power or renewables market 
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, management, external stakeholders 
  • Client-centric oriented behavior 
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) or registered professional engineer (PE) preferred 
  • Strong business acumen:  project management, proposals and consulting engineering
  • Client centric oriented behavior 
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
  • High energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills 
  • Excellent people skills with the ability to develop and foster lasting relationships 
  • Proficient computer skills utilizing Microsoft software programs and add-ins 
  • Excellent organizational and follow through skills 
  • Ability to work effectively across diverse work groups as well as manage by influence
  • Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity. Has the ability to work through ambiguity to clarify and determine a path forward

Additional Opportunity Details:
Compensation Range is Generally +/- 15% of Position Mid-Point of $103,000
