Position Overview:
The Project Manager - PMO is responsible for leading internal and external teams to deliver program(s) / project(s) of various complexities that span across one or more functional business areas. They will be responsible for the ongoing day-to-day development and progress of the project. They will also be required to manage project schedules and associated budgets whilst consistently adhering to best in class standard project management principles throughout the duration of every initiative. This will include management of all risks / issues and project change requests to ensure delivery of a successful on-time, on budget and within scope project. He / She will also contribute to and champion any strategic planning and process improvement initiatives as they relate to improving the overall delivery of each project to the enterprise.
Position Holder is Accountable For:
- Execution of the project management process according to the industry best practice Project Management frameworks, methodologies, and professional standards
- Ensuring control, predictability and quality in the projects
- Define - Clearly define the project’s goal, deliverables, organization & roles for the complete scope
- Plan – Drive the right level of planning for all parts of the project
- Execute - Deliver the objectives within the agreed constraints on cost, quality & schedule
- Report – The true status of the project in a clear manner to the stakeholders.
- Support building project management and process improvement competency in the RQIP organization by coaching and advising project team members
- Manage selected projects
- Maximize business case potential through user need focused project concept development. Ensure predictability in implementation with respect to cost, schedule and quality
- Ensure quality is delivered in projects by:
- Engaging line management
- Aligning with Key Stakeholders
- Implementing robust review processes
- Executing proper verification / validation processes
- Mature management of external vendors and associated project managers
- Utilize Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to optimize current state processes and re-design for scalability and significantly increased volume.
- Build project management competency in the organization
- Contribute to the development of the project management framework
- Build competency on industry best practice.
- Develop and implement tools and processes on best practices
- Actively participate in the Project Management network
- Strong experience scheduling, preparing and facilitating presentations and status reports to department leads and executive staff
- Experience in enterprise strategic planning within a healthcare setting, preferred, which should include executive and functional area team facilitation sessions
- Strong ability to lead without authority
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
- 3 -5 years cross functional project management experience
- Healthcare experience strongly preferred
- PMP certificate strongly desired
- PRINCE2 methodology strongly preferred
- Lean S ix sigma certificate a plus
- Advanced working knowledge of project management software [e.g. MS, Smartsheet, Asana, Jira, etc.]
The estimated annual base salary for this position is $90,000 to $95,000. Please note that this range does not include any other compensation or benefits that an individual may be eligible for. The salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, level of education attained, and/or professional certifications, years of relevant experience, special skills, etc.
