The Project Cost Accountant is an entry level position within the Project Cost Control group. It is responsible for smaller, less complex projects and will work under close supervision and direction of the Manager, Project Cost Control.

As a Project Cost Accountant in GTS Canada, you will represent the Finance function within the PMO organization and support the Project Team in the successful execution of the Project.
 

Key Accountabilities:

  • Your core responsibility includes the preparation of Monthly Project reports (Financial Dashboard) with accurate and up to date forecasts of Revenue, Project Margin and forecasted cash receipt dates with key risks and identified opportunities.

  • The Project Manager will rely on this data to provide inputs for the monthly Company Operational Budget Review (OBR) and the three-Year Multi[1]Year Budget cycle.

  • You will be actively involved and responsible for accurate and timely Financial reporting, both internally as well as externally towards the customer if required.

  • You will oversee the entire financial processes of the Project under the supervision of the Manager, Project Cost Control.

  • You will assist the Project Manager in the preparation of well documented and validated Financial Claims or Variance Orders / Contract changes.

  • You will also evaluate, monitor, and implement policies, practices and standards in accordance with Company guidelines.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Arts with up to 3 years of work experience in a similar role.

  • Good communication, analytical and presentation skills are critical to the success of the role.

  • Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel and Power point.

  • Passion for Finance with the ambition to grow into a Senior professional role in the organization.

  • Must be able to work well independently and in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pursuing or recently attained a Professional Accounting Designation (CMA or CGA) or MBA that is a plus.

  • Project accounting experience

  • Experience in SAP or similar large ERP would be a plus.

The Company provides the following compensation range and general description of benefits that it in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. The Company reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, or federal law. 

Salary Range: $76,233 - $95,882
