Program Manager III - Health Equity & Drivers of Health

Position Purpose:. This national role works across multiple states and has three key areas of focus: (1) Coordinate complex and fast-paced input and expertise from key internal stakeholders to inform responses for state Requests for Proposals. (2) Create and manage project plans, decision-making tools, and resources to support staff from health plans, shared services, and partners in designing partnerships, health equity initiatives and strategies; effectively organize information and share with multiple audiences and partners. (3) Support health plan activities related to partnership design, implementation, and performance improvement to improve outcomes for members and communities we serve – including engagement, outcomes, and access to services.


* Approximately 25-30% travel is required for position. *

Essential Responsibilities:

Program management and stakeholder engagement

  • Manage multiple projects through full project life cycle process including requirements gathering, creation of project plans and schedules, obtaining and managing resources, and facilitating project execution, deployment and closure.
    • Use industry standard project management tools and techniques to effectively manage projects.
    • Maintain detailed project documentation as needed including action items, issues lists and risk mitigation plans.
    • Provide leadership and effectively communicate project status to all stakeholders, including executive summaries and presentations.
  • Lead cross-functional meetings with various functional areas to meet overall project objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Work with project stakeholders to identify and secure resources, resolve issues, and mitigate risks.
  • Provide functional and technical knowledge regarding overall program requirements and operations.

Analysis and advisory support:

  • Conduct market analysis and review performance data to evaluate new opportunities aligned to organization strategies and operations. 
  • Create and manage decision support tools to assess and propose opportunities for leadership.
  • Identify emerging approaches, innovative programming, and policy opportunities to amplify and enhance community support and to improve access and health.

Partnerships:

  • Provide recommendations to continuously improve external partnerships and shared goals, e.g. increase member and community engagement, strengthen social care coordination, achieve disparity reduction goals. 
  • Develop and/or deploy strategies to engage communities in co-developing partnership models – especially with historically and currently marginalized communities and partner cross functionally for implementation support.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, related field, or equivalent experience. Master’s degree preferred (Public Health). 5+ …
