ManTech is seeking a motivated, career, and customer-oriented Product Engineer to join our team in the Reston, VA area to provide unparalleled support to multiple federal agencies through the Continuous Diagnostics & Mitigation (CDM) Program. The CDM Program is a high-profile, high-visibility, cybersecurity modernization and risk management program where you can contribute innovative solutions and consult with multiple federal agencies to enhance their Information Assurance (IA) programs and continuous monitoring capabilities.

The Product Engineer provides the necessary technical expertise to consult, plan, and implement cyber security solutions to provide a testbed and troubleshooting platform for other programs teams and to support the Agencies. This position requires working knowledge of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) cybersecurity tools and techniques employed to reduce the client’s cyber security risk posture. The successful candidate will bring a consultative approach to solving our clients’ cyber security problems, coupled with demonstrated experience implementing enterprise cybersecurity solutions utilizing  on-prem and cloud-based tools for Federal government clients. They will also be able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences both externally and internally.

The Product Engineer will:

  • Work alongside the Agency-facing ManTech technical team that are responsible for managing and maintaining the existing CDM solution within the Agency.

  • Provide technical guidance to Agency-facing ManTech team as to the configuration or integration of new or existing tools, as needed, to achieve the goals set forth by the CDM program

  • Be responsible and own software packages used by Agencies for the CDM solution, taking program and Agency policy into account.

  • Perform version upgrades, patches, or hotfixes to components of the CDM solution

  • Participate in the internal meetings, providing statuses of ongoing work and ManTech agency teams’ requests.

  • Provide routine and ongoing updates to assigned issues or tickets in following with the program-wide agile methodology

  • Produce or maintain Product contract engineering deliverables

  • Collaborate with other matrixed team members to ensure the Agency’s CDM solution is meeting and exceeding functionality and data requirements set forth in the scope of work by performing ongoing requirements mapping, validation and analysis

  • Document, manage, and report on project risks and opportunities and assist in rectifying issues or improving service in faltering/failing projects

Position Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of enterprise IT Engineering experience, with 1-3 years of hands-on enterprise IT engineering experience

  • Experience implementing technical solutions using COTS security tools in complex cloud-based, on-premises, and hybrid environments. Demonstrated experience:

    • Engineering, integrating, configuring, and deploying COTS solutions

    • Understanding of 2 or more of these IT/Security functions; asset management, vulnerability management, identity and access management, network security, and data protection.

  • Demonstrated experience in security solution design using existing as well as emerging technologies to deliver enterprise solutions

  • Must be able to articulate emerging cybersecurity, Cloud, or other IT technology trends

  • Strong understanding of industry best practices related to the implementation of cybersecurity tools, information security policy, NIST, DISA, and FISMA controls

  • Experience understanding organizational needs, proposing solutions, and managing project execution efforts designed to deliver overall program benefits for Government Agencies

  • Experience in conducting assessments of an Enterprise by reviewing technical documentation, conducting interviews and workshops to identify gaps and develop tailored solutions

  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

  • An independent, self-starting work ethic.

  • Ability to plan and coordinate plans with other team members and internal teams without direct managerial support.

  • Experience with similar tools to the following:

  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred

Security/Clearance Requirements

  • Candidate is required to be a US citizen (non-dual citizenship) with the ability to obtain a DHS Public Trust Suitability or Clearance

The projected compensation range for this position is $90,200-$149,600. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
