About the Role:

As the Procurement Director, you will be leading and managing the procurement function of the company. Your role will involve developing and implementing procurement strategies, overseeing all procurement activities, and ensuring that processes are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's objectives, building and maintaining relationships with key suppliers, negotiating contracts, and identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

This role will also be responsible for overseeing the order management process between our internal systems, managing inventory and demand planning, inventory cost management, BOM cost management and E&O management.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Management -

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to meet the company's needs and objectives.
  • Lead and manage procurement activities, providing guidance, support, and mentoring as needed.
  • Source and select suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage supplier relationships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key suppliers.
  • Ensure that procurement processes are compliant with company policies and regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement requirements and provide guidance and support.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns that arise.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function.
  • Manage the procurement budget and ensure that expenditures are within budgetary limits.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in procurement and supply chain management.

Order Management -

  • Run reports on open orders to manage procurement activities.
  • Reconcile purchase orders with accounting.
  • Use system generated order reports to manage inventory planning and forecast.
  • Work with fulfillment and sales team for demand planning and PO placement.
  • Work with fulfillment team to establish inventory replenishment program such as Min/Max, FIFO, JIT, etc.
  • Hold review meetings with fulfillment team and accounting to reconcile all purchasing and inventory transaction activities.
  • Inventory turn and E&O management.

Cost Management -

  • Set baseline on current product landed cost (BOM, MVA, Logistics, Tariff).
  • Establish a cost reduction strategy for all hardware device products.
  • Set product cost targets on a semi-annual basis with executable plans.

Qualifications:

  • BA degree in Business Administration, BS degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years in electronics manufacturing experience working in operations, new production introduction and program management.
  • Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a managerial role.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPIM) is a plus

Travel: Domestic and international travel to production sites, partners, and key suppliers up to 20%

Salary:  $175k-$210k
