Principal Statistician

Responsibilities:
- Ingest, transform, and analyze medical patient, provider, and administrative records using SAS and Python or R.
- Develop, modify, and validate new and existing patient safety measures.
- Design, develop, and implement sample weighting and risk-adjustment methods.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual summary data reports and presentations using Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Lead ad-hoc analyses and studies to identify and interpret trends across time and sample populations.
- Perform data quality assessments to identify anomalies, determine potential causes of anomalies, and suggest remedial actions.
- Support the validation and enhancement of data abstraction processes, algorithms, and measures.
- Communicate findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
Required Qualifications:
- A doctorate degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics, or other related scientific or technical discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience in statistical programming, data analysis, and data interpretation.
- At least 5 years of experience providing statistical consultation in biomedical research and drafting study manuscripts.
- Demonstrated publication records to reflect the principal statistician's ability to serve as primary author in patient safety research.
- Demonstrated ability to design and develop special analysis programs.
- Proficiency in SAS or other similar statistical software.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience providing statistical consultation in patient safety research.
- At least 5 years of experience directing and coordinating with other analysts to perform analytic tasks.
Working Environment:
eSimplicity supports a remote work environment operating within the Eastern time zone so we can work with and respond to our government clients. Expected hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern unless otherwise directed by manager.
Occasional travel for training and project meetings. It is estimated to be less than 25% per year.
