Principal Scientist (Director), Outcomes Research, Oncology Asset Leader

Job Description

Member of the overall asset development team responsible for asset level strategies and plans. Contributes to governance interactions led by the asset team, including the prioritization of indication filing opportunity recommendations to senior management. Develops and maintains tumor and indication expertise relevant to the asset and uses that to inform trial designs under consideration. Applies criteria to assess unmet medical need and value across tumors/indications for the asset for asset-level tumor/indication prioritization discussions.

Leads and/or contributes to development of the asset (product) level value and implementation (V&I) goals and tactical plan, and outcomes research strategies, while considering customer input. Designs, implements, and disseminates prioritized real-world evidence/outcomes research studies and outcomes research activities linked to V&I goals. Manages study and activity budgets and records milestone timing. Tracks use of real-world evidence/outcomes research study results to inform decision-making (e.g., scientific communication resources, health technology assessment submissions, global and US value dossiers, health economic models).   Provides input to V&I goals and tactical plans, and outcomes research strategies from tumor teams, as they relate to the asset.

Responsible for multiple assets. Aligns with alliance partner(s), as necessary. Reports to Sr. Principal Scientist (Sr Dir), Value and Implementation, Outcomes Research Oncology, Assets.

The following skills and knowledge are needed to be successful in this role:

  • Networking and partnerships: Building partnerships; developing and leveraging relationships within and across work groups to achieve results.
  • Innovation: Creating novel solutions with measurable value for existing and potential customers (internal or external); experimenting with new ways to solve work problems and seize opportunities that result in unique and differentiated solutions.
  • Knowledge of evolving payer and reimbursement environment: Educate the asset teams on impact of US Value Assessment and other key market HTA requirements on the asset and possible mitigation strategies  

Requirements for Education, Experience and Skills

  • Advanced or professional degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Outcomes Research, Health Economics, Epidemiology, Pharmaceutical Administration, Public Health, Health Policy, Medicine, or Clinical Pharmacy)
  • 5+ years relevant experience following advanced or professional degree
  • Oncology experience

Preferred for Education, Experience and Skills

  • PhD in a relevant discipline (e.g., Outcomes Research, Health Economics, Epidemiology, Pharmaceutical Administration, Health Policy, Public Health)

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence.  This Hybrid work model does not apply to, and daily in-person attendance is required for, field-based positions; facility-based, manufacturing-based, or research-based positions where the work to be performed is located at a Company site; positions covered by a collective-bargaining agreement (unless the agreement provides for hybrid work); or any other position for which the Company has determined the job requirements cannot be reasonably met working remotely. The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected US salary range:

$181,600.00 - $285,800.00
