The Principal HEOR Specialist will provide hands-on support to Medtronic in the design, execution, and dissemination of HEOR studies to meet the business evidence strategy needs in the Coronary Renal Denervation (CRDN) Operating Unit (OU) In this role, you will advise and collaborate with CRDN cross-functional teams with reimbursement, healthcare policy, strategy, marketing, clinical affairs, and other functions on Real World Evidence generation strategies, research methods, study design, and research standards with Real World Data. You will work closely with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) to generate peer-reviewed publications to fulfill evidence gap. The Principle HEOR Specialist will lead clinical and economics evidence summarization from literatures and develop Global Value Dossier for specific products/therapies. You will also serve as a technical leader, mentoring and training HEOR staff with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and implements observational and economic research studies that fulfill evidence gap for clinical and/or pre-clinical product portfolio decisions, marketing, regulatory agency submissions, and product reimbursement strategies.
  • Compares and evaluates the value of products and therapies with the clinical, economic, and quality of life outcomes data from clinical trials and/or epidemiology studies, registries, observational studies, modeling, surveys, and meta-analysis.
  • Provides hands-on support (study protocol, statistical analysis plan, data analysis, study report and presentation) to in-house HEOR studies by design and conduct scientifically rigorous research.
  • Authors and documents all studies related files by complying with internal SOPs and best practices.
  • Develops scientific communication plans and outputs, including peer-reviewed publications and presentations.
  • Develops interactive visual displays of data using Tableau or other platforms to create user-friendly outputs and tools.
  • Conducts a range of ad hoc projects and other tasks as needed to support missions of HEOR function.
  • Develops country specific evidence to meet requirement for optimal reimbursement coverage and usage.
  • Works closely with market access to help develop strategies and pricing programs and standardize best practices.
  • Works with clinical research to add relevant health outcomes and economic endpoints to clinical trials, and clinical biostatisticians to analyze and report study results.
  • Directs the work of vendors and outside researchers to accomplish the goals of organization with respect to data sources, research studies, and development of economic models and tools.
  • Provides mentorship, training and advise to other HEOR staff.

Must Have; Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 7 years of Health Economics, Public Health, Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology experience
  • Or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years Health Economics, Public Health, Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology experience.

Nice To Have

  • Master of Science degree in Health Economics, Public Health, Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology
  • Ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Deep subject matter expertise in real world data (EHR, claims, registry data) and retrospective data analysis methods.
  • Experience and familiar with literature systematic review and meta-analysis.
  • Proficiency in statistical packages such as SAS, R and/or SQL.
  • Proven track record of peer-reviewed scientific publications (abstract, manuscript).
  • Ability to function under high level of autonomy and manage priorities.
  • Strong oral/written presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to train, mentor and supervise other HEOR staff.
  • Knowledge and application of machine learning methodology (supervised, unsupervised learning, deep learning) in biomedical research or healthcare setting.
  • Great project management skill
  • Experience and familiar with data visualization tools such as Tableau.
  • Overall knowledge of government and private payer reimbursement models both within the USA and globally is desired.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$136,800.00 - $205,200.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
