Responsibilities

• As a principal engineer in Cloud Transition, you will work on

  • Platform capabilities to power customer-facing solutions/ experiences such as migration assitants (JCMA, CCMA), App Migrations, Routine Admin tasks (sandbox data clone, cloud to cloud data transformation, backup-restore)

  • Compliance initiatives across platform and product stacks ranging from cloud infrastructure to product experiences

  • Collaborating with Core Engineering, products and platform teams on high scale and high reliability transformative architecture viz. Kafka & Kafka Stream adoption.

  • Collaborating across teams to ensure adoption of world class engineering and operational practices.

  • Work across cloud platform and infrastructure services and provide a great developer experience for both our in house developers and 2P app developers

  • Collaboration/ Partnership across the Enterprise group and various Platform teams company to deliver key architecture outcomes for strategic programs

  • Be a change agent in bringing in industry standards in boosting velocity and engineering best practices

• As a Principal Engineer, you will partner with different Engineering Managers, other Engineers and cross functional teams to provide architecture guidance for various critical programs.

• We’re looking for someone who has experience building and leading large architecture teams in the cloud. Ideally someone who has experience working with cross geographical locations. An ideal candidate will have the following skills -

  • Preferably 10+ years of experience in the industry with proven AWS and SaaS skills

  • Must have worked on complex architectural challenges and worked on scale

  • Experience in Streaming platforms such as Kafka, Flink etc is a plus

  • Hands on technical leader, with a bias for action and desire to be a change agent

  • Well versed with cloud architecture patterns

  • Must have the ability to communicate crisply and must be able to talk technology to engineering and cross functional teams, fly at various altitudes with ease.

Compensation

At Atlassian, we strive to design equitable, explainable, and competitive compensation programs. To support this goal, the baseline of our range is higher than that of the typical market range, but in turn we expect to hire most candidates near this baseline. Base pay within the range is ultimately determined by a candidate's skills, expertise, or experience. In the United States, we have three geographic pay zones. For this role, our current base pay ranges for new hires in each zone are:

Zone A: $205,700 - $274,300

Zone B: $185,200 - $246,900

Zone C: $170,800 - $227,700

This role may also be eligible for benefits, bonuses, commissions, and equity.
